Zoobean, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which helps you build your individual child’s literacy with remarkable children’s books and apps selected just for him or her. You may select from a monthly book delivery service (from $9.99/month) that gives you one hardcover or paperback book each month, along with an app recommendation + literacy guides or a digital service option (from $2.99/month) and receive weekly personalized app + book recommendations that come with literacy guides.

This package was curated for WB, who is almost two.  I did a review on the package I received for L (who is almost 6) earlier in the month if you want to check that out.

Zoobean ships via USPS Media Mail.  I believe this one took nearly a week to arrive.  L’s package, which shipped on the same day, from the same place, took only three days to arrive. You just never know!

Oh No, GEORGE!

We received the book “Oh No, George!” by Chris Haughton for WB.  This book is adorable (it’s about a dog who just can’t resist temptation) and is so perfect for WB!  It also included a Reading Guide with questions to ask (mainly for older kids) before and after you read the book and a game to play to go along with the book.

The App:

Miss Spider's Tea Party
Miss Spider’s Tea Party

Our recommended app was “Miss Spider’s Tea Party“.  It looks adorable and it seems like WB would really enjoy it, however, I cannot find it in the iTunes store? I only see the Spanish version.  It’s entirely possible I am doing something wrong and I need to e-mail Zoobean to see what’s going on.

The Zoobean plan I received is $14.95, which includes the monthly hardcover book + the digital reading guide + the app selection and app companion.  If you are interested in just the Digital Service, it’s $2.99/month and you will receive a  Receive a weekly email that includes an expert created Reading Guide or App Companion along with a book or app recommendation.  And then you can pick up the book at the bookstore or borrowing it from your local library!

Thanks! WB is getting into apps now and I am always on the hunt for new ones.

My 6 year old daughter is so in love with the book “Oh No George!”. Somehow it keeps reappearing at my house as a library book. She likes it even more now that she can read it to herself.

I am actually thinking I am going to take to L’s school as the book I am reading to the class!

Sorry watching this on Shark Tank… As a teacher this does not work well… I work at a school with 14 languages non-Latin based and many cultures… Would use this I I could see and pick the books. I think as teachers thy could do better.. And I have a Masters in Children’s Lit and would not sign up…

I apologize about the errors on an old I-pad… And corrections kill whatever I write… And the touch screen causes me problems..
