~The biggest excitement of my weekend by far was the Oscars last night! I didn’t think there were too many huge misses with the dresses, but I was not loving that green dress on Elsa Pataky. She’s so gorgeous, but, that’d just be a no. I did LOVE Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Lupita Nyong’o, Emma Watson, Jessica Biel and Oliva Wilde though. Even Lady Gaga looked good! And I will for sure be reading my US Weekly and People this week to see what they thought of the dresses ;).
~I thought Ellen did awesome (she can’t do much wrong with me) and totally loved the Oscar selfie. I could have done without all that Samsung product placement, but whatever. In general I thought this years show was great. It moved along nicely and never was I bored, which is important at Awards shows! Oh and I loved Matthew McConaughey’s speech. So much. So so much. They should give him an award every year just so we can listen to his fabulous speeches.
~Okay no more Oscars, back to real life! B has every other Monday off and sadly this is not one of those weeks, so it’s just a normal day around here. As I reported yesterday, WB’s teething seems to be a bit better and L is totally over his illness. This week will consist of catching up on pretty much everything that hasn’t happened around here lately. Errands, a full grocery shopping trip, a Target run, the bank, the mall, the dry cleaners, the post office, you know, all that fun stuff.
~Until yesterday, I think the last time WB had seen B was maybe on Tuesday? B’s school schedule + WB’s sleeping schedule + National Guard weekends are rough. He was SO excited to see him last night when he got home and couldn’t wait to share his snack with him. #socute.
~It should be a fun week around here subscription box wise though. I am expecting Stitch Fix, Elizabeth & Clarke, Julep, Zoobean and Lily & Eve, plus hopefully a Fancy Box of some sort. Plus I still have an assortment of boxes I am behind on for February, so there will be lots going on around here.
~Everyone has been posting about it, but just in case you haven’t heard, Target is offering a Beauty Box for $5. It includes TONI&GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray, L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara, Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo, COVERGIRL Smoochies Sizzle Gloss and Jergens BB Cream Light. I haven’t ordered yet, but I might. They used to send these boxes out free and I still wish they were free I guess. LOL!! It is a great deal though.
~If you missed any of this weekends posts and just want some of the highlights, check out my fabulous March Wantable Intimates Box, February’s SocialBliss Style Box (which includes a Giveaway) and Sunday Sentiments. And then of course, everything else when you get a minute ;).
That’s it for now, but what’s up for your Monday? What subscription boxes are you expecting this week?
Where can I find the Target Beauty Box sign up?
Sorry, I meant to link it.

Thank you! My box is ordered.
Didn’t get charged for shipping and I received the 5% Target discount for using my card.
I love that your guys coordinate in the picture. So cute.
Oscars were good. I haven’t watched the red carpet yet so hard to tell on all the dresses. That will be on my todo list this afternoon since N gets out early due to weather.
Target Beauty Box just doesn’t wow me this time. I’m going to try hard to skip it 😉 I just don’t like dry shampoo and it still gives me the ickies.
LOL! I love dry shampoo!
I wanted to get the Target Beauty Box but I’ve heard that there’s a glitch so people are getting charged for shipping.
I think you have to call for the credit for shipping.
I ordered it and was charged for shipping and I called customer service right away and they refunded my shipping no problem. They said that there is a glitch on their website for the Beauty Box and that people are being charged shipping when they shouldn’t. I got mine for 5.66 after tax 🙂
The Target box does have free shipping, (it even says so in the description) there is a web glitch. Just place your order and call customer service and they will credit you back the shipping costs. It works, I did it last night. : )
That’s what I have heard. Hopefully they just fix it!
I ordered and was charged for shipping. Called and they told me it is not a free shipping item and will not credit the shipping back unless I get a RED card. 🙁
Boo! It says free shipping on the description!
I just called back and talked to someone else and he refunded my shipping!
I had to ask to speak to a supervisor because the first rep on the phone wouldn’t refund it and was being rude and when I spoke to the supervisor they refunded it no questions asked 🙂
I got that salt spray in a birchbox and I think I love it. But I will wait and see if they fix the shipping. The fewer phone calls to customer service in my life, the better!
Agree!
I used my RedCard and got the beauty box for $5.04 after tax. It was a nice way to avoid the shipping glitch! <3 my RedCard!
I probably would have gotten it by now if my red card weren’t in the other room?.
Mine was in the other room too, but I broke down and went to get it, because I’ve been wanting to try that texturizing hair spray, and that mascara. I’m not a dry shampoo person, but I hope I can find someone who is.
How often does Target do a Beauty Box?
I feel like maybe 2x a year?
My Stitch Fix was a hit AGAIN this month – kept all 5 pieces. So after 2 ho-hum months – they’ve really stepped it up. I got a new stylist, so I’m thinking maybe that is what did it.
I can’t wait to see what I get!
I’ve got Julep coming today and Citrus Lane coming later this week. I think I’m the last Citrus Lane box shipped out every month!
I wonder what takes yours so long??
Have you heard of Diamond Candles? I just learned about them and thought of you because it combines two things you love…. candles and surprise!! The low value rings look really low value, but the gamble of a high value ring seems so fun!
I have! I have never gotten anything amazing, but I always think it’s fun to dig it out!
How had I not known these Target beauty boxes used to be a thing?! Were they free gifts with purchase? I was so surprised by the fact that Target was dipping into the sub box market and by the $5 price tag that I couldn’t resist getting one.
No, they were just free samples! I think they only started charging in the last year or so?? They used to send a little bag with some samples in it for free.
Alas, the Target boxes are all gone 🙁 I certainly would have ordered one for five bucks!
Liked the Oscars. It was…comfortable. Nobody really “wowed” me on the red carpet. HATED Julia Roberts dress…favorite was Kate Hudson.
Disappointed in all those ripping McConaughy for his acceptance speech (they thought he was narcissistic for saying he was his own hero). What I got out of it was to always be your own hero, strive to be a better person every year. Since most folks “heros” these days seems to be athletes and celebrities, I thought that was an amazing way to be. I want to be my own hero in ten years, someone I can look up to, who has done great thing for my fellow man. Awesome way to think.
Oh gosh, I loved his speech! Who is ripping him??? I got what he was saying! He wants to be the best him that he can be and keeps working towards that every day!
There was stuff on Twitter and social media that night and the headline from MTV that the actor thanked himself for the Oscar. I think the light of day, most of the reaction has been positive, but it was kind of odd the things I was reading after his speech.
