It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Troubles. I’ve said it before (like every week), but this should be named “things i’m annoyed / confused / want to complain about”, however I couldn’t figure out how to make any of those into a snappy title, so Tuesday Troubles it is. And yes, I do realize that these aren’t true “troubles”. I know that many of these for sure could be defined as first world problems!
~So it’s supposed to snow tomorrow. Well, late tonight. Part of me is annoyed by this because this has been the nastiest winter ever and it was 50+ degrees yesterday and felt amazing and now we are going back to snow. WTF. And the other part of me is like well, why not snow more? It’s pretty and fun and the kids love it. But my street / driveway is still a choppy mess of ice and if we get more snow, I feel like my dream of actually going on a walk around the block is never going to happen. LOL!!!
~We are totally changing our Disney trip. I think we have come to our senses and realized that driving to Florida with WB (L would be fine) is not going to be a good time. At all. And really would be the longest 20 or so hours of my life. So we are going in the summer. Yeah, I know, it’s going to be hot. But we’ll live. And save a fortune on airfare as well! Anyone been to Disney in the summer? How crowded is it? Hopefully not too bad???
~If you don’t watch The Bachelor, don’t worry, I am not going to spoil it. But I will say that I feel like I lost some (okay a lot) of brain cells watching that last night. What a total train wreck. Why do I even care? Who knows, but I can’t turn away. He is such a jerk. I have zero idea if he likes his pick or not. I did google to find out what he told Clare (you can read about it here) that pissed her off and oh man, what a dirty dirty dog.
~And speaking of jerks, did anyone else watch Justin Bieber’s deposition videos? Oh man, what a little snot. I so badly want to smack him. Listen, I get that depositions suck. I had to do one once and it wasn’t the most exciting way I can think of to spend a morning. But really? Grow up. He does not have a shred of respect for, well anyone.
~And finally, this is an actual serious troubling matter. Where is that airplane? No, seriously, how does a plane just vanish? Those poor families waiting on word. Holding onto that last shred of hope that maybe it landed safely on some crazy remote island or something. I don’t know. It’s fascinating and beyond disturbing that this can happen in this day and age. I thought we had radar and satellite and tracking on everything? And the stolen passports? What the? I really hope they find out what happened and quickly for everyone’s sake.
That’s it from here for now! What’s troubling you today?
Disney in the summer is a nightmare. I mean, I have done it a few times, and would do it again. I lived down there for a little while and it is just gross and everything is super crowded during the summer. With FastPass, it may not be so bad though. Be prepared for it to rain at least once a day. It probably won’t rain for long, but it will rain just about every day.
I don’t mind the rain. We don’t spend all day at the parks (that’s just too much no matter what time of year it is), so we’d be okay.
You’re so much nicer about Mr. Snow!! I am sooo DONE, have been DONE and can’t believe more is coming!! Oh, and I fell for Juan Pablo….he was so “smooth” in the beginning and now I think he’s such an ***!!! I definitely lost brain cells on that one! Now the real reason for my comment, I hope I didn’t scare you from driving to Florida (with WB)!!! I feel so responsible… I hope Lucas wasn’t all excited about it! I think Spring Break is quite a bit more crowded than an average summer’s day…but not sure.
LOL, no, I don’t think anyone wants to drive with WB. We really want to fly, but it’s just SO expensive!!!!!
Did you watch after the Final Rose ceremony? I didn’t think I could like Juan Pablo less but then he make it happen..lol. And I don’t even know what happened after the women tell all that made him and Nikki “change their plans.” The whole thing is confusing.
I’m going to Disneyworld in Oct, which is my fav time to go. Airfare was ridiculously cheap. Perhaps you can hit up Typhoon Lagoon in the summer. It is awesome!
I did. I really want to know what made them change their plans too. What was that all about? And now all of a sudden it’s all private? Come on now.
One “rumor” is that he was going to be on DWTS, but they rescinded the offer after his comments about homosexuals. Evidently, he & Neekee 🙂 were going to put on a show of being together until after DWTS, and then they would split.
Do you think that was the “change” he was referring to when he mentioned their plans changing after the Girls Tell All Show???? Esss okay though. He just wants to be private. LOL.
I live in Orlando and we are annual passholders to the Disney parks. While, it is very busy in the summer, it is still completely manageable! You’ll have a great time! If you haven’t checked out the Disney water parks, those are awesome ways to beat the summer heat!
Thanks! Which is your favorite water park?
By far, Blizzard Beach is our favorite. Just so much more to see and do for all ages.
Ew, ew, ewww. I figured that was what he said, but still – ew. I didn’t watch a single episode until yesterday, but I couldn’t resist watching the finale. By the end, I wanted to throw something at my tv. I don’t think the tv would have made it if I had watched the whole season. Ew.
Different topic – you should do a disney trip guide! 🙂
I don’t know what it is about him, but he drives me crazier than any of the other Bachelors ever.
We’ve only done Disneyland in the summer and it was horrible. But we usually go in the off season (to DL) so it’s usually much mellower.
Have you checked out any Disney message boards? I like http://www.disboards.com/ and http://laughingplace.com/
Yeah that plane thing is not good….
I have read disboards a few times. I would totally prefer the off-season (like maybe October or November), but with school it just doesn’t work ;(.
While it is quite hot, Disney in the summer is pretty fun! There’s usually a change of a storm every day, but if there ever is one, it’s so quick and cools everything down for a little while. My boyfriend and I went during the middle two weeks in August and I can’t even tell you how many storms we missed while being inside waiting for rides! Growing up, my family always went in December but the past 2 years I’ve gone in May and August and I have to say that I would choose the end of August any time. The longest we ever waited in line was 55 minutes for Space Mountain, most of the time, we were in line for less than 20! I find it’s a great time to go as most of the kids in Florida start going back to school in mid August so it’s a lot less busy (but still hot!)
Either way, you’ll have so much fun and the kids will love it. I’m ridiculously jealous!
That doesn’t sound bad! I don’t mind a little “weather”!!
I didn’t watch The Bachelor, but Juan Pablo seems like a massive jerk! I’d love for the ladies to decline his silly roses! Now that would be awesome TV!
And I couldn’t agree more about Justin Bieber! Someone needs to smack some sense into him, as he’s really going to alienate his fans and wind up having to get a regular job one day. I get that he’s young and spoiled, but he needs an infusion of common sense asap!
The missing airplane is really troubling. I thought that they were always being tracked, so learning that isn’t the case is surprising. And how is it that in this day and age, people can still use stolen passports? And those poor families still waiting on news! Scary all around!
It’s such a crazy story!!!
And the Biebs. He is headed down a road of trouble. Someone needs to knock some sense into him.
As a Floridian I would advise against going in the summer. April/May is okay time to go but you may encounter rain but it clears up just as fast as it gets there.
June/July, just plain awful. It gets SUPER hot and since everyone is in summer vacation it can get pretty crowded. I mean, as long as you find a way to keep yourselves cool, you may be fine (SLAP ON THAT SPF).
I’ve gone at all times of the year, definitely going earlier in the year is better like now in March. lol
I am sure that would be idea, but with school and $800 flights, it’s just not happening!
What a nightmare. >.<
Well just stay hydrated and dress light!
Last nights Bachelor was horrible. Awful. Awkward. Painful. And yet… I couldn’t stop watching. I felt like I needed to take a shower afterwards. Yeah, it was that bad. I fell for him at first and thought he was sooo nice…. what a dirty dog!!!! What the heck is Nikki thinking??? The whole thing was just bad! Props to Chris Harrison… love that guy. He handled it pretty well I thought.
Seriously. What was she thinking. She did NOT seem to care at all. Chris Harrison was so puzzled by it all.
I’ve only been to wdw in august & it’s awesome! Not crowded at all. However, animal kingdom gets crazy hot. Everywhere else is ok.
Good to know! Thank you!
If you go to Disney during the summer prepare to wait on rides for at less an hour maybe a little longer, the summer is the busiest for amusement park if I was you I would get fast passes for the whole family I hope you guys have fun. That Justin Bieber deposition video was so funny I’am sorry but that was very entertaining and I think the guys doing the interviewing was to soft on him! If that was someone else giving them attitude they would had dish it right back. Lol
I don’t even know if I could have stayed in the same room with him!
I’m going to Disney this July with my family & are worried about the same thing, but it’s not enough to stop me from going! We’ve been in September before & that was wonderful, but our schedule will only allow for summer this year. So I’m prepared to melt!
Us too! It just seems like that’s what the plan that will work best for us and I am going with it!
I’m in NY and have done Disney in the summer a few times with my family (will also be going in July for my sister’s Sweet 16 trip!)…sure it’s hot, but there are so many great resort pools and the water parks are fun! Plus, depending on when you go, there’s fun park-wide events, like Star Wars weekend at Hollywood Studios! And the Lagoon outside of Magic Kingdom does an evening Pirate Ship boatride to watch the fireworks! Lots of fun stuff that will make the kiddos forget the heat…plus Mickey shaped ice cream. Mickey Shaped Ice Cream makes everything better 🙂
Oh I hear you on the Mickey Shaped ice-cream I love that stuff!
The airplane thing is so disturbing to me…Those poor passengers.
I really hope some of them survived somehow…but I really think that basically, it was some sort of terrorist attack and the plane went down…HARD.
But who knows…Look, a plane crashed in the Andes and some of the passengars survived! Its amazing what people can survive.
So disturbing. I just am so confused on how this could happen!
If you aren’t use to the heat and humidity it’s a nightmare. Kids do not like standing around in the heat waiting. Lol Disney is always crowed there is no getting around it. Have you tried Busch gardens? Military families get in free. When we took the kids we did three parks in three days!! But rented a house with a pool so we got some relief.
I’m sure you’ll have fun no matter what but remember we warned you. R o fl
We are not an all day park family. A few hours in the morning. A few hours at night. Pool all afternoon!
It will be more crowded in the summer and very hot, but as long as you avoid the week of July 4th, it’s doable. My dad loves to go that week because the fireworks at Magic Kingdom are pretty awesome, but it’s wall to wall people and I think they closed the park (MK only) due to hitting capacity at least one of the days we were there last time years ago. We’ve gone in early June though and while we did still have the heat and long wait times, it was much better than early July.
My parents live there now, so we go a few times a year and I much prefer September/October, February, and first week of December, but we only have a 3 year old so we haven’t run into issues with school yet. Not sure what we’ll do then.
I know. It was so easy when we could just go whenever and not worry about school! Between my husband’s National Guard and school and my son’s school, we are super limited!
We just booked our Disney vacation for October! I am so excited! Im sure it’ll be HOT, but you’ll still have a great time!
Fun! Where are you staying??
We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Villas! I have never stayed there (or have seen it in person!) I am very excited! Where are you staying?
We got suite at Art of Animation! We’ve never stayed there before but were drawn into the idea of separate rooms for the kids.
I do NOT envy your snow! Its 80 and sunny here today, and we are loving it. I’m really not looking forward to the rain and 40 degrees thats supposed to hit us on Wednesday/Thursday morning. At. All. {On another note, call me strange, but I thought about you yesterday. I happened to be in Walmart and saw a bunch of chapstick. I was going to pick up the Red Velvet and mail it out if they had one … but now I’m wondering if maybe it was a christmasy/winter themed one? They still had cake batter, but have some springy ones out now. Something citrusy and a fruit punch one.}
80 degrees??? That sounds dreamy!!! Ohh, I would have loved that if they had it. Let me known if you see it. I think both were seasonal, but I am not totally sure.
WDW in the summer: I’d really encourage you to get to the parks early when it’s cooler and less crowded, then if you’re not staying too far away, get back to your room for some R&R. Are you staying on-site? The extra magic hours in the morning are really handy for getting to things before it gets too hot.
Yep. On-site. We usually go to a park for a few hours in the morning, back to the hotel after lunch and then maybe to the park for dinner / nighttime.
This whole missing plane it totally reminding me of Lost. Also you need to do a full recap of your disney trip, because we are planning a trip for October 2015 and need suggestions.
I will try! I am so into this plane story. Where is that thing? How is it possible that it’s just lost like that?
If you can go in early June, you’ll beat some of the crowd…
Ditto for after Labor Day.
I wish we could. Well we could, but both B and L would have to miss school and I want to avoid that.
Oh my goodness, the Bachelor. I can’t even. So, Disney. We went the week of Memorial Day weekend, so almost summer. It was very crowded, as my sister told me it would be, but it wasn’t unbearable. We were able to get Fastpasses and go on all the attractions we wanted, even some a couple of times. And it did rain hard one day, but we actually went to one of the waterparks that day (it was still warm), and because it was raining everyone had left, and we got to ride the slides over and over with no lines at all. It was so fun! Having just finished a road trip with our 9-month-old, I completely support your decision not to drive! I’m sure WB is more cooperative, but that long in the car would be hard for any young kid. Or parent, for that matter.
Oh no, I bet he wouldn’t be more cooperative!!! 4 hours in the car with him is enough. 20 would be over the top.
