April 2014 Bespoke Post - "Maker"
April 2014 Bespoke Post – “Maker”

I didn’t even have a chance to track my April 2014 Bespoke Post box before it appeared in my mailbox today! I really wasn’t expecting it, but was happy to see it. The April selections were “Weekender” and “Maker“. There was no question we were opting for Maker! They also had “Shelter“, “Swagger“, “Made“, and “Aged” available if you weren’t interested in the two new options.

In case you aren’t familiar with them, Bespoke Post delivers fresh and interesting lifestyle brands and products to men. Each month, you’ll get to choose from their limited-edition boxes filled with an array of products built around a central, unique theme. Don’t want one that month? Just skip the month (you can opt out during the first 5 days of the month) and you won’t be charged.

The Box

Bespoke Post ships via USPS through Newgistics. Like last month, this month’s box took only three days to arrive. I don’t know what is happening to make all my packages arrive faster, but I like it!

First Look

I should have saved this box for B to open tomorrow on his birthday, but I couldn’t help myself.  I wanted to check it out for myself!  Oops ;).

The Information Card

As I mentioned, we opted for the “Maker” box for our April Bespoke Post.  It’s described as being “for the hard working, do it yourself-types with an eye for quality and style”.  Here is what was included:

~Able Workman’s Apron: This was custom-designed for Bespoke Post and is 100% American made.  No joke, B wears an apron every time he cooks so this was made for him.  He only has one (it was from Birchbox) and it is going to be nice (for me) to add another one in the rotation so I am not always washing it!  This apron has leather straps and is made from a water repellent canvas duck.

~Old Mansion Foods Spices: Bespoke included spice blends that work with pretty much anything you are thinking of grilling.  Monterey is good for chicken, fish and vegetables.  Seven, which is “salty and sharp” works with “anything and everything”.  And Expresso, which is best with rich red meat and buttery potatoes.  I cannot wait to try the Express one with some red skin potatoes and steak.  Mmmmm.

~Outdoor Gourmet Cedar Wraps: I was a little confused by these at first.  I thought it was suppose to a plank and thought, well, this is so flimsy it’s never going to work.  Once I read that it was a wrap it makes much more sense.  The wraps are paper-thin sheets of cedar that can be used on the grill or oven, while infusing them with cedar flavor and steam.  Sounds amazing right?  Please let it be grilling weather this weekend!

I couldn’t do a cost breakdown on this box since the apron is a Bespoke Post exclusive.  As usual this was another great box for us (otherwise we wouldn’t have ordered it) and I am ready to see what they do next!  I am kind of hoping for a grooming or fashion one!

What do you think of Bespoke Post?  Did you get a box this month?  Which one?  Interested in subscribing or just want to learn more?  Click here and check out what boxes they have available.

And just a heads up, for the next few days (thru the morning of 4/21 I believe), Bespoke Post is on Rue La La where you can score a one month subscription for $34 (a $45 value) or a 3-month subscription for $99 (a $135 value)!  Bespoke would make a fabulous Father’s Day gift and it’s never too early to start shopping!!!
