I was shocked to find my April 2014 bluum box on my porch after lunch today. I wasn’t expecting it to come today and I wasn’t expecting the mail to come so early either.

The Box

bluum ships vai FedEx Smart Post. I received my shipping notification on the 18th and the box arrived just 4 days later. It wasn’t scheduled to arrive until Thursday, so that is why it was so surprising.

First Look

The contents of the box basically sprung out at me when I opened it up!  LOL.  bluum always uses the same sized boxes, so some months your box is more packing materials than products.  It all just depends on the size of the items.

The Information Card

bluum sends out boxes which include products are based on your child’s age, gender and developmental stage and no longer do a “themed” box.  Products in the monthly boxes still change from month to month, so if you are expecting a 28 Month-Old (we have WB aged up) box next month it will likely be different.  You never know what you are going to get with bluum and it keeps me intrigued! Here is what our April 2014 bluum box included:

~BeginAgain Pusharound – Dog ($13): This is adorable, but it might be a little young for WB?  Not that he wouldn’t play with it, because he totally would, but I think I will pass this on to a friend who just had a baby.

~Child’s Play Helping Hands – Cook It ($5.99): I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a book.  WB LOVES to help cook (L does too) so this is awesome.

~Klorane – Dry Shampoo ($19.50): I had seen other people getting this in their bluum boxes this month and was like please please please let me get it too!  And I did!  Yes! I love dry shampoo and this stuff is fabulous.  Do I want to pay for it myself?  No.  I buy the cheap stuff.  But I will happily enjoy this!

~Crocodile Creek Placemat – Robots ($4): Once I figure out how to get his to lay flat on the table we’ll probably use it for play-doh and crafting.  Any ideas on how to do this?  Maybe just some of that reusable tacky stuff?

~Jack N’ Jill Natural Calendula Toothpaste ($5.85): Although odd, WB does love brushing his teeth so this might be his favorite item in the entire box.  And I think it’s very useful and saves me a trip to the store.

All totaled I came up with a value of $48.34 for the April 2014 bluum box.  As always, it was beyond $24.95/month cost of the box and I am just going to take a guess that if you like dry shampoo like I do, you are pretty happy this month!

Put heavy books on it, let it sit for a day or two. This should make it flat..

    1. Jennifer

I will try that. I feel like it will take weeks!

      Did it come in yours??

Oh my little guy does not get that either. I think he thinks it’s a snack.

Did you know Stork Stack combined with Bluum? I guess stork Stack is no more.

Yes! I think they announced it a week or two ago? They had a big e-mail about it and posted it on their site as well.

My posters I use for art classes are always curling….try this. Roll it up the opposite way that it was rolled…really man handle it. Then unroll it and do it again….repeat…when it is flat-ish stop. I thought everyone knew this trick!

It just seems like a lost cause, but I will try that!

My little guy received the same dog push toy last month from Bluum in his 21 month box. He hasn’t shown any interest 🙂

I bet you could trade it???

      1. Or even sell it on eBay. I’ve had good luck selling some box items on eBay that weren’t “right” for us 🙂

  6. I didn’t get my April box until May 2nd (and my subscription had been cancelled so they screwed something up and re-activated it randomly, which I worked out with them, EXCELLENT customer service!) I too got the same dry shampoo, haven’t tried it yet though, did you like it? I haven’t found one yet that I love (cheap or expensive) Check out what else I got, my review is here: http://bit.ly/bluumapril14

I did like it! I don’t think it’s my favorite of all the dry shampoos I have tried, but I’ll for sure use it all.

I was a little disappointed in my Bluum box – I was hoping to get one toy but it was a water bottle, book, sticker book and dry hair shampoo. Maybe next month’s will cheer me up!

      What age did you get?

      1. Jen

It was a gift for my nephew who is almost 4. Do they have less toy items as they get older?

        1. Jennifer

          I’m not too sure?
