April 2014 Love With Food

This has been a great subscription box week so far and one of the boxes I received was my April 2014 Love With Food box!

If you aren’t familiar, Love With Food box members receive a curated box filled with 8+ unique gourmet food items. Each box brings new delights, with bites that vary based on seasonal themes. In addition, Love With Food donates a meal to a child in need with each box purchased, which you can read more about here.

The Box

Love With Food ships via DHL Global Mail. Sometimes it takes weeks to arrive, but this month it only took a few days!

First Look

I hadn’t seen any spoilers for this month’s box yet, so I was going in totally blind!  I had no idea what the theme was, what any of the items in the box were, etc.  It looked cute though!

The Information Card

The April 2014 Love With Food theme was “Flower Power” and included flower inspired treats to help you stop and smell the roses and enjoy the Spring thaw.  Here is what was included:

~Orchard Blend by Sensible Foods:  Not my favorite dried fruit I have ever tried, but I really liked that it was crunchy.  I am not overly fond of soggy dried fruit.

~Heart-tee by Wild Hibiscus Flower Co.: This tea is rumored to lower anxiety and stress and is a “tangy deep-red floral tea”.  If any tea sounds good, it’s this one.  I am going to try it and see what I think.

~Creamed Honey with Chocolate Mint by Vintage Bee: This is interesting.  I can’t really see having chocolate mint honey alone as a snack, but on a bagel on something, now we’re talking.  It really does taste like chocolate mint.

~Almonds with Cranberries, Honey & Sea Salt by Sahale Snacks: Totally a B item.  These will make a great snack when he’s out working on his car.

~Popcorn by Crave Canyon:  I don’t know if other flavors were sent out, we got the Aged White Cheddar & Hatch Green Chile flavor and my goodness they have a kick to them.  I was not expecting that!  Very flavorful and I would love to try out the other flavors.

~Honey Waffle by Meli: This is a honey sandwiched between crispy waffles.  I am looking forward to having a this with a cup of coffee in the morning!

~Fiordifrutta Organic Fruit Spread by Rigoni Di Asiago:  I think the packaging on this is so cute! Our sample is apricot and I know that L will love it on toast.  He loves little spreads and that kind of thing.

~Organic Energy by Bumble Bee: I feel like I have tried this before?  It’s not bad but it reminds me of birdseed.  LOL.  That’s what it looks like.  It’s be better with chocolate drizzled on the top, but what wouldn’t be?
