Petit Vour

Petit Vour, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription box of cruelty-free beauty products, hand-picked from businesses that align quality with progressive standards. Boxes are $15/month and the value of the contents always exceeds the cost.
Petit Vour ships via USPS First Class Mail. They usually ship around the 15th of the month, however, this month’s box seemed to go out a tad later. But it still arrived in just a few days after it shipped and everything was in perfect condition.
Petit Vour wrapped their boxes in craft paper to ship this month to protect the pretty pink box inside. I always end up reusing these boxes to ship things so it doesn’t make any difference to me, but it is extra pretty this month.
I was very excited by the first look and there was one item specifically that I couldn’t wait to check out further.
The April 2014 Petit Vour theme is Boheme Beauty and is described as “unconventional, feminine, pure”. Here is what was included:
~Lily Lolo Eye Shadow Quad ($20.14): Love the colors on this one! If I didn’t already have a ton of palettes to work through I would totally keep this. But I think I will pass it on to a friend who uses natural beauty items. As it is, it will take me eons to finish up the shadows I do have.
~Harvey Prince Yogini Fragrance ($21): This is the item I was most excited about! I love Harvey Prince (who I discovered thanks to subscription boxes) and have never tried this scent before. It’s light, but fabulous. And if I really find that it “calms the mind, soothes the soul, and frees the spirit” I will buy the biggest bottle they sell ;).
~Kimberly Parry Organics Creamy Cleanser ($23.70): This cleanser is supposed to help skin look and feel soft and silky. Instead of jumping around from product to product like I used to, I have been trying to stick with one brand until I use up the container. As a result, I will probably be passing along more skincare samples than I used to until I figure out what works best for me.
~Jane Scrivner Un-Condition Skin ‘Condition Oil’ (~$5): I haven’t had much luck with argan oil on my face, but perhaps this is different? I really want oils to work on my face because people rave about them, but every time I try them I feel like they dry out my skin (which is so odd).
All totaled, the April 2014 Petit Vour box had a value of $69.84, which is totally insane since boxes are $15/month. How do they do it?? I am totally thrilled with this box and am always impressed with the quality and variety of products that they include. They also offer a rewards program and a referral program and offer discounts on some of the products in the box each month so you can earn free boxes!

Petit Vour was the first of the many subscription boxes that I canceled. Everything from that one box went into the trash, and I didn’t want to risk it happening again. Subsequent months didn’t thrill me either, but this one is interesting even if the only item I’d use would be the fragrance.
When did you first try them?
I think my one and only box was October. Maybe November. I was so intrigued by the fragrance though that I went to the company website and placed an order.
So, silly question – do you think the aragon oil is really drying out your skin or just the outside of your skin feel drier than normal? My dermatologist told me that my skin is actually producing oil because its too dry – thus making me think I have oily skin because it sits on top my skin. Using oil actually makes the skin all nurished from the inside so it doesn’t have to produce excess oil to try to moisturize itself which leds to it being less oily on the surface. Totally counterintuative — but I do know that just how things look/feel on the surface, my oil has all but gone away when I use it; but I still get oily when I don’t (like this week – just because I’ve been lazy — I’m an oil slick when I get home when I don’t use oil — so odd).
I don’t know?? Like it was almost peeling when I used it. It was so odd. Maybe I should try again. I am trying to remember if I was pregnant whenI tried it? That could have had something to do with it, but I don’t think I was???
I’ve really been wanting that perfume! How is it? I am curious about it and nervous to buy a whole bottle. I have “Hello” and “Skinny Chic” and love them both.
I really like it!!!! And I like those two you have a lot as well. You can buy just this size on the Harvey Prince site to see!
The Kimberly Parry Organics Creamy Cleanser is THE BOMB! My friend who is a Spa Director gifted me a bottle once and it is the most amazing cleanser I have ever used. I won’t ever be able to afford it but it will be nice while it lasts…..
That is what a fear with some of the things I get. The last thing I need is to fall in love with like a $200 bottle of lotion!
