I can’t resist a Mystery Box, so when Citrus Lane announced their first Mystery Box last week, I snatched it right up!
If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane recently raised their prices from $25/month to $29/month, but if you sign up for a longer subscription, you can get boxes for as little as $19/month (that’s what I do). This Mystery Box was also $29 and promised to have a value of $60+. In all the years I have subscribed to Citrus Lane, I have never seen them offer Mystery Boxes so it was a no brainer to order and check it out. This Mystery Box (which is designed for children 0-12 months old) went on sale last week and sold out in hours. Citrus Lane released a Mystery Box designed for children ages 12-24 months earlier today and that one also sold out just as fast.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and my box took just shy of a week to arrive. I ordered today’s Mystery Box as well, so hopefully that will show up next week.
The first look was awesome! I bought this box to use as gifts for friends / relatives with little ones and right off the bat it looked great. Since this is a mystery box and not a normal monthly box, it didn’t have an information card. Here’s what was inside:
~Barefoot Books Octopus Opposites ($7.99): We have this book ourselves and it’s a really cute one. Both boys like it and it will be a great item to take to a baby shower when they request that books be brought instead of cards.
~Begin Again Earthworms Grab and Twist Toy ($11): I always wanted one of these for WB, but we never got one in a box when he was the age for it. I am going to send this to my cousin who just had a little boy and is a big fan of the classic wooden toys like this.
~Begin Again Green Ring Teether Toy ($10): We were lucky enough to get one of these and WB played with it more than chewed on it, but he did like it. This too will be headed to my cousin in the box I am making for her.
~Rich Frog Frog Stacker ($10): This was the item I knew was in the Mystery Box. When I purchased the box there were a few stacker options to pick from. I went for the frog because I thought it was the cutest.
~Swaddle Designs Marquisette Swaddle Blanket ($15): I love a swaddled baby and will be gifting this to one of my best friends who is having a little boy in a few weeks. I cannot wait to snuggle up with that sweet baby! It will give me baby fever for sure!
~Munchkin Trainer Cups ($7.99): I am keeping these for WB! He can drink from a regular cup and doesn’t need a trainer cup, however, I like it better when he drinks from something with a lid. And we are always in need of sippy cups around here. Those just don’t last forever.
All totaled I came up with a value of $61.98 for the 0-12 Month Citrus Lane Mystery Box! That was double the cost of the box (which again was $29) and I thought it was a fabulous deal. I ordered the 12-24 month-old Mystery Box today and will be ordered others if they become available! Did you get a Citrus Lane Mystery Box? What’d you get in it? Like I mentioned, all the Mystery Boxes are currently sold out, however, I am hoping they offer another one soon!
If you are interested in subscribing to their monthly boxes, click here and use the coupon code “TAKE20OFF” to save $20 off your first box! That would make your first box $9 which is a complete steal!!! And the spoilers / sneak peeks for the April box look awesome, so you don’t want to miss out! They’ve shown Green Toys Tools & Flowers, Books, Zoli Stackers and more! Not sure what age is getting which item or items, but we’ll find out soon!
