Birchbox Man
Cost: $20/month.
Ships To: United States.
I love when I get a subscription box “early” and that’s exactly what happened with B’s May 2014 Birchbox Man box! I got the May box in April! I love it!
Birchbox Man ships via Newgistics and took, I believe, four days to arrive. Not bad at all.
This month was just a normal Birchbox Man (i.e. not a collaboration), so it was the standard Birchbox box. I had peeked in B’s account so I knew what to expect, but B never ever peeks. He likes to go spoiler free for every box!
B received Birchbox #4 (*) this month. Once again, of the box variations I saw this month (the paragraph at the bottom of this post will explain how to look up your box number, see all the other boxes from this month, etc.) I thought this one fit B perfectly.
The May 2014 Birchbox Man theme is “Good Form” and is all about making thoughtful decisions with your space and routine. Here is what was included:
~COOLA Enviornmental Repair Plus Radical Recovery After Sun-Lotion ($2.66): This lotion is made with allow and agave and is suppose to take the sting out of tired, sunburnt skin. I know B will be needing this over the summer and I am going to make sure I bring it up-north with us because he’s outside, in the sun, all day there.
~Histories dr Parfums 1969 ($4.38): I am not totally sure on the scent on this one (it’s described as blends of rose, patchouli, clove and musk), but the packaging is a total win. I think of the 70’s when I see it, but I suppose 1969 is close enough.
~Plant Face Oil – ØÅ (~$6): This is to be used instead of moisturizer. I know B will test it out, but I don’t know how many uses he’ll be able to get out of it. I think a week’s worth of sample would be ideal. At least them you could tell if something was working.
~Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator ($5.66): Ohh, I love this stuff! I received a sample of it in my Birchbox once and was thrilled with it. I even ordered a full size one, which is now finished as well. I should actually order more because I think B will be wanting more as well.
~32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath Treatment ($1.97): I have received these in one of my Birchboxes as well. They are basically breathe mint Poprocks. Super fun! And they work.
~RIADA by Adair Tiebar ($20): HUGE score! B loves this and would totally have bought something like this on his own. It makes the entire box for us. Everything else he received is just a bonus. Awesome awesome!
~Bicycle Cards ($3.99): Birchbox also included a deck of cards to mark the start of their new Aces program. If you aren’t familiar with it, you are automatically enrolled when you earn 500 points within a calendar year. The program gives you free shipping, groom consultations, bonus samples and more! Since B and I have our boxes under the same account and since I buy all those mystery boxes, we are members!
All totaled I came up with a value of $44.66 for the May 2014 Birchbox Man box. This doesn’t include the including points for doing reviews and purchasing the box itself (**) – which would bring the value up to $52.66! Birchbox Man is $20/month, as is usually the case, this box was worth more than double the cost. B’s been loving our boxes lately and I think it has to do with the fact that he’s gotten great lifestyle items (at least great for B anyway)! I am guessing if you aren’t happy with your lifestyle item, you aren’t as excited about the box as you could be since that’s where the majority of the value is.
