Sudsy Box
Cost: $20/bi-monthly.
Ships To: United States
Sudsy Box, who kindly sent me this box for review, contains 3 full sized soap bars from Heidi’s Artisan Soap and one sample of a lip balm, lotion bar, sea salt scrub or body butter. The soaps will vary and will be themed to the season of the shipment.
Sudsy Box ships via USPS Priority Mail. Boxes are shipped bi-monthly, and if I am not mistaken, this is their first ever box.
Right away I noticed the cool paper (and labels) in this box and I was hoping there would be some sort of details about it. And on the back of the information card their was! This paper (which is so cool by the way) is handmade lotka paper which is made in the highlands of Nepal by rural craftspeople. Not only is the entire process earth friendly, it also provides the area with a healthy enterprise. Also, the paper contains 15 types of tiny wildflower seeds that will grow in North America. So you can plant this paper and watch it grow. L is going to be amazed by this. And frankly I am too.
The Spring 2014 Sudsy Box does’t have a theme (although they do select seasonally appropriate items), but like I said, they have the coolest information card out there! Here is what the box contained:
~Morning Mist Soap ($6): Morning Mist smells like peppermint and is suppose to be sudsy and creamy, but doesn’t leave your skin dry. I wanted to open all these soaps up to show you how cool they look. but I also didn’t want to ruin all the package since there is no way 3 bars of soap will be able to be used right away! You can click the links though to see how neat they are.
~Orange Mocha Expresso Soap ($6): This is my favorite scent of the bunch. It’s a combination of cocoa butter and orange essential oil and is totally my kind of scent. I have been hesitant to switch to bar soap, but it finally occurred to me that I don’t need to just ditch shower gel. I can use both and alternate! Problem solved.
~Lavender Dreams Soap ($6): This one also smells fabulous and is very spa like. Just closing my eyes and smelling it relaxed me a bit.
~Glossy Lip Balm – Peppermint ($3): I was so hoping there would be a lip balm in this box to try and here it is! I put it on right away and it made my lips shiny and soft! Love it!
All totaled I came up with a value of $21 for the Spring 2014 Sudsy Box! The box itself is $20 bi-monthly, however, if you ordered them directly from Heidi’s Artisan Soaps, you’d have to pay shipping of $6! Plus, if you use the coupon code “NEW10” at checkout you will save 10% off your order!

The morning mist bar looks gorgeous on the inside, so do all the others but right now I am on a peppermint lotion kick.
For some reason I think of Peppermint + Christmas, but I need to get away from that!
Me too but there is a menthol lotion at Bath and Body Works and I am in love! It’s like C.O. Bigelow in a green bottle I think. I want it so bad.
Bi-monthly as in twice a month, or every other?
Every other month.
I love bar soaps – its going to be hard to resist this one. Do you have a soap sack? If not, get one – it changed my mind about bar soaps. http://www.amazon.com/Daylee-Naturals-Exfoliating-Assorted-Colors/dp/B004GXZOEO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1397155257&sr=8-2&keywords=soap+sack
I do not! I am going to get that! Thank you!
I also think it’s fun when you can plant papers and get lovely flowers to bloom. But I want to tell you to be careful when the seeds are from a totally different country with a different fauna.
New types of flowers that are introduced to a new area can make the local flowers die and get extinct since they take over and take all the energy from the soil that the flowers need.
In some cases the foreign flowers also mutate from the different minerals in the soil and they can become poisonous. (Here in Sweden we have one of those plants that can be used as a painkiller in africa, but here it has mutated and can kill us when eaten.)
Interesting! Thank you for the heads up!
Aasa, that is a great point! We were very careful when selecting the paper that the seeds were sourced from ONLY North American companies. They take great care to ensure that the seeds in the paper are natural to our environment and are not foreign or noxious. I grew up in the country and have a deep respect for our lands.
