Yay!! My Citrus Lane Skip Hop Mystery Box is finally here! I was hoping that it would show up yesterday, but no such luck.
If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but if you sign up for a longer subscription, you can get boxes for as little as $19/month (that’s what I do). They also have been offering Mystery Boxes every once in a while, which are also $29 and promise to have a value of $60+. This Mystery Box featured the ability to pick which Skip Hop plate / bowl set you ‘d like included in your box, but the rest of the box was a mystery. I opted for the “Hippo” set because it’s one we didn’t have yet.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and this box took the standard week to arrive. Every once in a while I will get a box a few days early from Smart Post, but not this time.
I’d seen some spoilers, so the box wasn’t exactly a surprise, but it’s still always fun to open up a mystery box. Heck, it’s fun to open up all the subscription boxes too! The Mystery Box didn’t include an information card (just a packing slip), but it contained the following items:
~Skip Hop Hippo Plate & Bowl ($10): Adorable! We have the dog and the monkey and maybe one more and it’s always thing the kids go for when I tell them to grab a plate or a bowl. Always! I really want them to come out with the tableware stuff for the new Hedgehog because that guy is beyond cute.
~Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies ($1): The kids like these and so do I actually. They will be gone within 24 hours I bet.
~Melissa & Doug Rainbow Stacker ($7.99): I think I have received one of these in every kid subscription box I receive! LOL! They are cute though and WB loves it. They also make a great gift which is what I have been doing with my extras.
~Cleo in the Snow Puzzle ($6.99): This is also a repeat for us, but it’s a very cute board book and will make a great gift.
~Green Tones Triangle Castanet ($11.99): We have this, but I am not totally sure where it is. I am adding this to the music box I am making for the kids so that I have all that kind of stuff together.
~Handprint Art Kit from Pearhead (~$9.95): I have so many of these. I really need to get painting with the kids so we can get some new art on the walls.
~Eco-Kids Eco-Dough ($4): I love eco-dough (we got it for the first time in the recent Citrus Lane Art Mystery Box) and was happy to see more in here. I would have been happier if it was a different color since we already received green, but what can you do?
~Bearfoot Books Bear on the Go Puzzle ($12.99): I am not totally sure if we have received this exact puzzle or one similar, but even if it’s a duplicate, I do not mind at all. We will need toys for up-north and this is a great up-north rainy day item.
All totaled I came up with a value of $64.91 for the Citrus Lane Mystery Box featuring the Skip Hop Hippo Plate / Bowl! Since the box was only $29 (and I ordered a few other things we needed to get free shipping), I am quite pleased! A lot of it was repeats, but I expected that and it all makes great gifts!
Did you get a Citrus Lane Mystery Box? What’d you get in it and what animal set did you pick for the plate / bowl? I am curious if there were any variations between the boxes! All of the Mystery Box options are currently sold out, but I will let you know as soon as more are released (if they release more that is)! And, if you are interested in ordering a Citrus Lane subscription, you can click here and try your first box for only $9 using the coupon code “TAKE20OFF“!
I received mine today too. It was pretty much the exact but no ecodough at all 🙁 and the book was called Bedtime Rhymes by Clare Beaton.
You should e-mail! Most (all?) of the pictures I have seen have had eco-dough!
What a fun box! When I went to order the hippo was all sold out (the one I thought was the cutest!). But, I can’t resist a mystery box, especially a Citrus Lane one!
So, we ordered the zebra and elephant ones! They are supposed to be here next week! Can’t wait to see what is in them!
I can’t resist them either!
AHHH, sorry for yelling, but my box was last spotted in texas (i am in arkansas). According to the tracking info i will not be seeing it untill TUESDAY 🙁 Nice to see it will be containing some great items!
My bad, just checked and it is in southaven.
Arrived at FedEx location

Mail systems are so funny, could they have not dropped it by on their way from texas to mississippi??
OMG you are cracking me up! I hope it comes on Saturday! Tomorrow is probably just wishful thinking I would guess??
Saturday would be wonderful, it is suppose to rain all weekend. New toys would just light up my almost 14 month-olds day 🙂
If yours is a hippo box it might be being drawn here (MS) by me and my hippo collection obsession. I NEED a set of those even though I don’t have kids. If it’s in Southhaven, it wouldn’t even get to me by tomorrow!
No luck over the weekend. Last update was sat. and it made it from southaven to memphis in 2 days. Now im do genius, but people tell me thats only about a 20-30 minute drive.. and from memphis to my house, maybe an hour. so tell me why will i not get my box untill tomorrow 🙁
We ordered the zebra and it was the same as yours except the dough was yellow and the book was the bedtime stories one. Not complaining since the only duplicate was the canvas thing which I’ll save to regift. Everything else will, like you, go up north for the summer. I did find the hippo, elephant and zebra dishes at Marshall’s over the weekend. I picked up the hippo set for 5 bucks but did not see the hedgehog!
I don’t think it comes in the plate set yet???
I want them to do an older kid mystery box. I’ve liked some of the ones so far but I just don’t need things in these ages so I need an older one. I do love all the products you go though and they would make great gifts for someone who doesn’t get all the same boxes. 🙂
ME TOO! Like a 4-5 year old Mystery Box! That would be awesome.
I would so order a 4-5 year old, I mean even if they cant play with it now they will. Like i am a subscriber to bluum, for the most part it is wonderful, but in 5 months i have gotten quite a bit of stuff that my child is to old for ex: a hat last month in the 13 month box that looks like a newborn hat, and although did not have a size, it did not even come close to fitting over her head. and a book in her 12 month box that was for 0+ months that was just contrast colors and shapes. I gave it to her and she patiently waited for like 10 minutes for me to read it to her.. so i put it in the *to be gifted* box.
Finally!! We got our box yesterday (also got the conformation for the monthly box. it says next wenesday.. we will see) Everything was the same as yours, except we got yellow eco dough. 🙂 super happy with our box
I wanted my monthly box to come today, but I think it will be tomorrow. Boo!
