Yay!! My Citrus Lane Skip Hop Mystery Box is finally here! I was hoping that it would show up yesterday, but no such luck.
If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but if you sign up for a longer subscription, you can get boxes for as little as $19/month (that’s what I do). They also have been offering Mystery Boxes every once in a while, which are also $29 and promise to have a value of $60+. This Mystery Box featured the ability to pick which Skip Hop plate / bowl set you ‘d like included in your box, but the rest of the box was a mystery. I opted for the “Hippo” set because it’s one we didn’t have yet.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and this box took the standard week to arrive. Every once in a while I will get a box a few days early from Smart Post, but not this time.
I’d seen some spoilers, so the box wasn’t exactly a surprise, but it’s still always fun to open up a mystery box. Heck, it’s fun to open up all the subscription boxes too! The Mystery Box didn’t include an information card (just a packing slip), but it contained the following items:
~Skip Hop Hippo Plate & Bowl ($10): Adorable! We have the dog and the monkey and maybe one more and it’s always thing the kids go for when I tell them to grab a plate or a bowl. Always! I really want them to come out with the tableware stuff for the new Hedgehog because that guy is beyond cute.
~Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies ($1): The kids like these and so do I actually. They will be gone within 24 hours I bet.
~Melissa & Doug Rainbow Stacker ($7.99): I think I have received one of these in every kid subscription box I receive! LOL! They are cute though and WB loves it. They also make a great gift which is what I have been doing with my extras.
~Cleo in the Snow Puzzle ($6.99): This is also a repeat for us, but it’s a very cute board book and will make a great gift.
~Green Tones Triangle Castanet ($11.99): We have this, but I am not totally sure where it is. I am adding this to the music box I am making for the kids so that I have all that kind of stuff together.
~Handprint Art Kit from Pearhead (~$9.95): I have so many of these. I really need to get painting with the kids so we can get some new art on the walls.
~Eco-Kids Eco-Dough ($4): I love eco-dough (we got it for the first time in the recent Citrus Lane Art Mystery Box) and was happy to see more in here. I would have been happier if it was a different color since we already received green, but what can you do?
~Bearfoot Books Bear on the Go Puzzle ($12.99): I am not totally sure if we have received this exact puzzle or one similar, but even if it’s a duplicate, I do not mind at all. We will need toys for up-north and this is a great up-north rainy day item.
All totaled I came up with a value of $64.91 for the Citrus Lane Mystery Box featuring the Skip Hop Hippo Plate / Bowl! Since the box was only $29 (and I ordered a few other things we needed to get free shipping), I am quite pleased! A lot of it was repeats, but I expected that and it all makes great gifts!
Did you get a Citrus Lane Mystery Box? What’d you get in it and what animal set did you pick for the plate / bowl? I am curious if there were any variations between the boxes! All of the Mystery Box options are currently sold out, but I will let you know as soon as more are released (if they release more that is)!
