June 2014 Stitch Fix Review
June 2014 Stitch Fix Review

I’m not sure if this is my June 2014 Stitch Fix or my 2nd May one or what, but I have deliveries scheduled every 4 weeks and I think I got two in April and called one my May box, which is throwing me all off!

If you aren’t familiar, Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. You provide your style, size, and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

The Box

Stitch Fix ships via FedEx and took just under a week to arrive. With the holiday weekend in there I didn’t think that was too bad at all.

First Look

As usual, I had peeked at my items in the box (you can go to the review your box area on the website to see what’s coming), but I have realized that it isn’t too much of a spoiler because I can rarely tell what it looks like.

The Information Card

Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept everything in the box (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $394 and had I kept everything, I would have had to pay $280.50 (plus my $20 styling fee).  In comparison, my Fix from last month would have been $199.50 to keep everything.  Here is what I received:

~AV Max Kokomo Branch Bar Necklace ($62): I like this necklace and think it’s fun and unique, but I don’t know that I like it for $62.  I think I would love it for about $40?  So I am just not sure about this one!  Verdict: Undecided.

~19 Cooper Cathleen Split-Neck Tulip Sleeve Blouse ($68): I really like the fabric and the color of this, but on me?  No.  Just not looking good.  Verdict: Returned.

~Kut from The Kloth Callie Demin Jacket ($78):  Some people look totally adorable in a jean jacket.  I am not one of those people.  I look like I am trying to hard.  Plus the cut of this one is all kinds of not me.  It’s too short which is another not so amazing look on me.  Verdict: Returned.

~Mavi Aiden Ankle Length Skinny Jean ($98):  I was scared I was going to spill something on these just taking them out of the box, so for me they are a no.  I can basically guarantee I wouldn’t get to my destination without something getting on these.  Verdict: Returned.

~Tart Juliano Chevron Print Twist Shoulder Cowl Neck Top ($88): Totally love this!  The fit, the fabric and of course the pattern!  I probably would have kept it no matter what the pattern, but the fact that it was a funky chevron makes it even better! Verdict: Kept

Like last month I am only keeping one (well maybe two) items from this Fix.  As long as I keep at least one item and don’t lose my $20 styling fee I am happy and think it’s worth it to get a fix every month.  However, I am going to do some updating and revamping of my preferences and my Pinterest board to see if I can’t get some more keepers next month.
