I seriously had the best mail weekend. One of the many boxes that arrived was my (well Baxter and Buddy’s) May 2014 Barkbox!
If you aren’t familiar, BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs! Each monthly box contains a combination of 4-6 treats, toys, and hygiene products that have been hand selected and approved by Scout, head product tester for BarkBox. We’ve been getting for nearly two years and are always quite happy with it.
Barkbox ships via DHL Glocal Mail and took just five days to arrive this month. Not bad at all if you ask me.
Everything looked great in the first look. I had a guess on the theme of the box, but wasn’t totally sure yet!
The May 2014 Barkbox celebrates healthy, but still delicious eating and is inspired by find from Barkbox’s favorite green markets. My guess was a farmer’s market theme, so I was pretty close! Here is what the box included:
~P.L.A.Y. Carrot Toy ($8.07): SO cute! It’s squeaky and is made with the same standards as infant and children’s toys. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if WB tries to steal this away to play pretend with.
~Caitec Amazing Knobble Ball ($3.99): Well, WB has stolen this away! I think the kids have played with it more then the dogs. It’s a pretty cool ball so I don’t even blame them for wanting to play with it. There is a hole in this and inside is a soft squeaker, which the dogs cannot figure out where is coming from. The kids get it though ;).
~Snicky Snaks (Apple Cobbler) (~$9.99): These are made from 100% organic, non-GMO ingredients. The dogs haven’t tried them yet, but if they don’t like them my brother’s dogs will happily eat them.
~Plato Organic Chicken Dog Treats ($8.99): The dogs got these in a box last week as well, but they LOVE them! They aren’t super soft like they normally like but they must taste fabulous because the boys cannot get enough of them.
~Barkworthies Junior Bully Stick ($2.50): In keeping with tradition, we got another Barkworthies Bully Stick! We seriously get one every month. I give them to the boys every other month so they each get one at the same time, but they still fight over them like crazy because they love them so much.
All totaled I came up with an (estimated) value of $33.54 for the May 2014 Barkbox! We all loved this box and I thought the toys this month were adorable! And everything fit very well with the theme, which I always appreciate because I know how difficult it must be.
Do you subscribe to BarkBox? What’d you think of this month’s box? If you want to subscribe or learn more, click here. A monthly subscription is $29/month, but if you opt for a longer subscription, the price drops as low as $18/month (that’s what I get)! And you can use the code “RAMBLING” save 15% off ANY subscription plan which would make it an even better deal!
I like this box a lot, I still never ordered any boxes at all but this one I just might once we move end of year! 🙂
It saves me so many trips to PetsSmart!
That box looks great, I was thinking about signing up for Barkbox for my Tesla Bear but she has alot of food allergies, do they ask this when they set up the subscription?

You know, I am not 100% sure if Barkbox does???
I love the carrot!! I wish they sent out a stuffed veggie in the medium dog box 🙂 Although I don’t think my pups cared either way!
What came in the medium dog one?
We didn’t get a barkworthy this month in our large dog box and I think my boy was sad 🙁 But he did like the apple cobbler.
I think my dogs expect them now!
A rubber bone, a longer bully stick, a pup smoothie, a box of “Wagatha’s” tuscan pizza dog biscuits, and a bag of hickory bacon “yumZies”
They must figure the bigger dogs will destroy the small bones.
My girl got the large breed box and she got the Apple Cobbler Snicky Snaks, a large rubber bone, a Zuke’s Z-bone, and No Grainers Jerky Chews. This was our first Barkbox, looking forward to more toys and treats!
That sounds like a good one too!
Apparently Barkbox has an Agressive Chewer option. I had been wondering why the past few months Rose had been getting hard rubber toys (which she has no interest in) when just about everyone else was getting plush toys. When I contacted Customer Service, I found out we were getting the agressive chewer box. Rose is not an agressive chewer. It’s been fixed, so hopefully we’ll start getting the cool plushy toys next month.
Ohh, that is good to know!! I hope you start to get some of the cute plush ones soon too!
This was my pomeranian Sampson’s first Barkbox and we were both extremely happy with it! The first item he grabbed was the carrot, which is apparently carrot-flavored. (He loves carrots! And it squeaks so he LOVES it.) The second item was the Barkworthies bully stick, which he immediately took the following 45 minutes to consume. His favorite food is chicken so he loved the chicken treats. He wasn’t sure about the organic apple treats at first since I think this is the first time he’s tried anything apple-flavored but eventually ate it and and now he eats them eagerly. Sampson has never been one for a ball inside, but once he discovered that it squeaked he was happy again. He will use it more outside and when we take him to the lake this weekend we will bring it to see what he does with it since it floats!
Sampson sounds like he had a great first Barkbox!!!!
