Box of Happies, who kindly sent me this to review, is an innovative monthly box subscription of unique handmade products. Each box includes 3 to 5 handmade surprises from artists who specialize in one or more of the following categories: jewelry, accessories, paper goods, bath & beauty, photography, and housewares.
Box of Happies ships via USPS Priority Mail on the first of the month. Boxes typically arrive the first week of the month. I believe mine two two days to get to me.
Instead of arriving in a cardboard box, Box of Happies ships in a reusable plastic container. They also includes a card which gives you ideas on how you can resuse this box which is awesome.
The first look gave me a bit of a clue about what was in the box. I loved all the little containers holding everything. It makes it so fun to open all the little items.
Box of Happies doesn’t have a theme, but they do have a cute little information card listing everything in the box, as well as, cards for each of the vendors in the box. Here is what was included:
~Wax Alchemy All Natural Soy Candle – Honeysuckle ($8): This candle smells great and is in this adorable little tin. To me, a box of happies would always have to have a candle in it
~Metrix Bracelet ($15): This bracelet is made from waxed linen which is not supposed to get wet, so be careful if you got this box! It’s very delicate, but also very cool. I will for sure add this to my arm stack.
~Kate Favors Mirror ($2.50): Ahhh, so cute! You know I love chevron, so you know I love this little pocket mirror! It’ll look cute in my purse and will also work to entertain WB in a pinch. I am sure my kids aren’t the only ones who think making faces in the mirror is hysterical.
~Box of Happies Necklace / Earrings ($16): These aren’t something I would probably pick for myself, but I think the heart design is cute. I will likely end up gifting these to a friend who will enjoy them.
All totaled I came up with a value of $41.50 for the April 2014 Box of Happies. Box of Happies is $28.99/month so the value was totally there and opening this box did make me happy! It the plastic box will make me happy on a regular basis when it is nicely holding the kids crayons and markers instead of them just spilling out everywhere in my cupboard.
