May 2014 Citrus Lane (4 Year-Old Boy)

Yay!  My May 2014 Citrus Lane box is here!  I got a ton of mail today (my mom was here and quite enjoyed all the unboxings) and Citrus Lane was the first one I went for.  I get two CL boxes every month, one for WB who just turned two and one extra box for a 4 year-old boy. This review is for the 4 year-old boy box – WB’s box is still on it’s way.

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane  is $29/month, but they have a coupon code “TAKE20OFF” which lets you pick up your first box for $9! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month!

The Box

Citrus Lane ships vis FedEx Smart Post.  My box took just under a week to arrive which is fairly average for them.

First Look

I had seen a few variations of this month’s box (they are age specific) and although I hadn’t seen one for the specific age of this box, I did have an idea of what I was getting.

The Information Card

The May 2014 Citrus Lane box included items to get you in the spirit of summer and to help you to get ready to spend more time outside.  Here is what was included:

~Goodbyn Hero (~$14.99): It doesn’t appear this is for sale yet in the US (it’s available in Australia though), so I estimated the price on it.   I LOVE this!  I pack L’s lunch in a Goodbyn we got from CL in a previous box and I use the little one for snacks every day.  I will use this for summer snacks, lunches, tons of stuff!

~Fun Flyer from Stephen Joseph ($6.95): Both boys will like this and I am going to actually have to try and trade for another so they can each have one.

~Mini Art Kit from Creativity for Kids ($5.99): I remember having these when I was little! I’ll put these away for a raining summer day.  I know the boys will get a kick out of dropping them off our little balcony upstairs.

~Fresh Feet Wipes for Kids from Jasmine Seven ($3.32): It doesn’t bother my boys, but I hate dirty feet more than just about anything.  I usually just use baby wipes, but special antibacterial feet wipes sound even better.

~Snack from Back to Nature ($1.50): I think there was a few different types of snacks sent out, but I was happy to get the chocolate chunk cookies.  They are yummy and served as a much needed after farm snack.

All totaled I came up with an estimated value of $32.75 for the May 2014 Citrus Lane.  I LOVED this box!  Even though L is 6 and this box is for a 4 year-old, this box is perfect for him.  I cannot even wait to see what WB gets in his box this month!  I am hoping for another Goodbyn.  Oh and I should mention that the box also came with a 25% off coupon code to Vine Market which offers natural and organic groceries.

Did you get a Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?  If you are interested in subscribing, click here.   Now through 5/31, you can use the coupon code “TAKE20OFF” to save $20 off your first box!  That would make your first Citrus Lane box $9 which is a complete steal!!! You will be enrolled in a monthly subscription (which you can always cancel if you are not happy), but it’s totally an amazing way to try them out!

Love this box. I just looked and originally my box said tomorrow but now it says Monday 🙁 Most of the boxes I’ve seen this month look great. I have C aged up to I think 42 months so excited to see what we get. The boys love the parachute men and since they only last about one use we are always needing more.LOL

I hope you get this one! I am obsessed with the new Goodbyn. It may inspire more packed lunches for the end of the year!

It did come today and of course I was taking a nap so I didn’t get to bring the boxes in.LOL WE got the Goodbyn, watch and markers. At first I was upset but C hasn’t taken the watch off so I guess its a win win for us. 🙂

That fun flyer is SO cute! I may have to order one 🙂 We received a set of markers and a spaceship watch. I get the 3 year old box I suppose, since J is 3.5 years old. Yep, I’ve decided I have to order the flyer 😉

Which animal one are you going to get??

      1. Heaven

I ordered the crab and the shark. I couldn’t decide between them! Now, if one gets lost (as I am sure it will) it won’t be a HUGE deal!

Good point. You are making me think I need to order two and not just one.

        2. Heaven

I could picture the tears from losing something that cute (maybe from me haha). For 6.95 I didn’t mind grabbing two. I am just going to put the other one away until needed!

I loved my box this month! Mine is for a 3-year-old girl, it was perfect. We got the Skip Hop Zoo Mealtime Set (Panda), a cute butterfly watch from Crocodile Creek, a 12-set of Duo Tip Washable Markers from Faber-Castell, the same fresh feet wipes (always needed) and the cheesy crack snacks from Back to Nature. I am glad I decided to keep Citrus Lane. I got my first month and wasn’t that impressed, so I tried to cancel. When I did, they offered me 3 months for $15 each month. Best decision ever! My kid LOVES getting them, I let her unbox.

How fun!!! I loved this month as well!

Hoping I get a Goodbyn in mine! Haven’t gotten a shipping confirmation yet. Seems like all my boxes are late.

    1. Jennifer

What age is it? I think shipping confirmations should all be out by now???

      1. Genevieve

18 months. I checked my account, it shipped and is due on Tuesday :).

          Yay!

I received my box for 19 month boy today: same cookies, wipes, and bento box. I also got two Hape sand toys (Parthenon and track roller), and Melissa and Doug puzzle. I was able to select which puzzle I wanted and I chose a fish peg puzzle all with different colors. I would have been fine with receiving any of the Melissa and Doug puzzles they offered but my little one is rapidly growing out of the chunkier piece ones. The peg one will be saved for the future. Great box!

That sounds like a really really good box! I hope WB’s is something similar. I know it won’t have a puzzle though since I didn’t get to pick that.

I received the 3 year old box for a boy and he got the shark zoo mealtime set, a watch, duo washable markers and fresh feet wipes. We really liked everything (especially the skip hop bowl and plate). We did not get the snack even though it is on our little information card.

    1. Jennifer

E-mail them! I bet it was an oversight! They will send it if it was missing!

      That is a great box!
