Hamptons Lane
Cost: $47/month
Ships To: United States.
Hamptons Lane curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes, which are $47/month, will be revealed at the beginning of every month and are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, The Best of BBQ, Picnic Time, etc. Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.
My Hamptons Lane shipped via USPS this month I believe? I got an e-mail on the 14th that it shipped and it indicated to expect it in 3-5 days, which was right when it arrived.
Since you can see your Hamptons Lane box before you decide if you wish to keep it or not, you know what you are getting before it arrives, however, I couldn’t recall exactly what was going to be included in it. So it was like being 50% spoiler free ;).
The May 2014 Hamptons Lane theme was “Coastal Italy” and explores the cuisine and dining experience in some of the most breathtaking towns in coastal Italy. Here is what was included:
~Colatura di Alici by Nettuno ($20.75): I would never have guessed this by the package, but this is anchovy sauce. B and I are planning on using it in the Hamptons Lane sea scallops recipe provided in the information booklet and I must say, I would have been just fine not knowing exactly what this was.
~Blade by Menu Wine Aerating Pourer ($19.99): This looks to be a bit fancier than the other aerators that we have so we will be swapping this out.
~$25 Lot18 Gift Card ($25): I haven’t heard of Lot 18 before this, but B and I decided we should make use of our gift card pick one of the wines they recommend with the included recipes.
~Antichi Uliveti Extra Virgin Olive Oil ($16.80): This olive oil comes from the Sardinia region and has been produced on the Pinna family farm for generations. I am highly looking forward to using this as a dipping oil with focaccia!
~IGP Spaghetti Pasta by Pastificio Faella ($8): The difference between the pasta that costs $0.99/box and this is incredible. I have had this in the past and it’s amazing. Don’t get me wrong I like the $1 stuff too, but this is worth it!
~Antimo Caputi Tipo 00 Flour ($2.50): I can only hope that B makes the signature Hamptons Lane focaccia recipe that is included in the information card with this flour. It doesn’t seem too difficult (says the girl who is not making this), but sounds delicious.
All totaled I came up with a value of $93.04 for the May 2014 Hamptons Lane – “Coastal Italy” box. I am loving what they are doing with these themes and think it was $47 well spent! And as soon as we receive our wine and make this feast, B will have pictures on his Instagram. I am hoping this happens next week!
