MunchPak, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly food subscription service and ecommerce website that aims to introduce the best, new, and popular snacks from all over the world to the average Joe. MunchPak now offers three sizes, the MunchPak Mini ($7.95), the Original MunchPak ($13.95) and the Family MunchPak ($24.95). Shipping and handling is additional and is calculated based on the size of your Pak.
MunchPak ships on a weekly basis and how it ships is up to you. My May MunchPak shipped via USPS Priority Mail and took only two days to arrive.
I could only see a few things in the first look, but so far so good! MunchPak doesn’t have an information card because everyone receives a slightly different selection of fun treats. Here is what was in my May 2014 MunchPak Classic:
~Shrimp Chips and Herr’s Heinz Ketchup Chips: Shrimp chips! They aren’t as bad as they sound (at least I don’t think they sound good at all), but they aren’t going to be something I reach for at the store either. B likes Ketchup chips (we have received them in the past) so he will be happy to see these.
~Animal Cookies Galletas and Natural Joy California Pistachios: Love the animal cookies (I have never seen this brand before), but pistachios are more of a B item.
~Jack Link’s Barbecue Big Dippers: For sure a B item! He is obsessed with Jack Link’s and pretty much all beef jerky so this is a great one for us.
~Pampa Cream Cookies and Bauducco Chocolate Wafer: Mmm, cookies! The cream cookies were good and the wafers look amazing, but we haven’t had a chance to try them yet.
~Fruit Gums and Fruit Pastilles: These are L items. He’s had them from previous boxes and enjoyed them and I am happy to let that happen again.
~Chew-Its and Hi-Chew: More L items! I have actually tried both of these in the past though and I do like then. Chocolate is more my candy of choice though ;).
~Lotte Koala Cookies and Animal Baby Ball Cookies: Love love love these Koala cookies! So good. I am saving them for a special treat one day. Not really sure about these giraffe things. Kind of just there.
~Manzela Delicious Caramel Peanut and Hormicas: The caramel peanut bar was good, but again, dipped it chocolate would have made it way better. LOL! And there is no way I am trying the hormicas. Anything with a red fire ant on the package just isn’t for me.
~Bassett’s Murray Mints and Cow Tales: I haven’t tried the mints yet, but the cow tales are always a big hit when they come in the house here. B and L fight about them.
~Chili Rokas and Pop: I am going to try and talk my brother into the chili candy! I have tried a few similar ones in the past and they just aren’t for me. I have the sucker in my bag as an “in case of emergency” item. 😉
What do you think of MunchPak? We always have a fun time sampling the different snacks from around the world and I say the more foreign goodies they pack in these, the better!
If you want you to give them a try (and just an FYI they now ship to Canada), click here to get signed up!
We are definitely a Shrimp Chip and Hi-Chew family. The giraffe things are honey balls and they are very bland. They are great for small children as they melt in the mouth so are not a choking hazard. Since my girls grew up with them they are still a favorite.
I had no idea that shrimp chips were so popular!
Oooh this looks fun ! gotta love a box of junk food ha i am so used to my bestowed box which is sometimes TOO healthy so this would be a fun surprise ! PS yes shrimp chips do sound bad hehe
Yeah, it’s not meant to be a healthy box at all!
Now this is a subscription box that I think my tween boys would LOVE! I’m going to look into getting them one of these.
Oh totally!!! Such a fun way to sample all those goodies!
“Shrimp chips! They aren?t as bad as they sound (at least I don?t think they sound good at all), but they aren?t going to be something I reach for at the store either.”
😛 Shrimp chips are the food of my childhood so we’ll have to agree to disagree. I’d definitely rather (and have) grab them off the shelf than ketchup chips… which kind of disturb me….
It’s cool to see them include so many Asian brand foods though.
LOL! It’s possible it’s just the name. Ketchup chips aren’t my favorite either though.
I’m Chinese and I also grew up with shrimp chips. Love them. The onion straws they sent in the May PopSugar box reminded me of shrimp chips haha.
It’s gotta just be the name I am not feeling!
The Rowntree Fruit Gums are my absolute favorite candy, so very cool that a subscription box included them! I may need to try this one out, as you got so many cool treats!
So many cool ones!
My mum always seems to have fruit pastilles in he bag! I didn’t know you had them in the states too!
