May 2014 Nerd Block Jr. Review

Nerd Block Jr. is a monthly surprise box for kids! It’s is specifically designed for children (you can opt for a Boys Block or a Girls Block) aged 6-11 and is filled with toys and games just for them.  They also offer an adult box for $29.49/month (that includes shipping). This Block is a Boys one for L, who is (almost 6).

The Box

Nerd Block ships from Canada and took about a week to arrive. Longer than my past boxes from them have taken, but still not bad considering it has to go thru customs.

First Look

This month’s block was a little less full than usual, but I right away saw a few items I knew L would love!  Nerd Block Jr. doesn’t have an information card, however, the customs label on the front of the box always lists the contents in full, so I guess it’s just as good.  Here is what was included in the May 2014 Nerd Block Jr. (Boy) box:

~Mario Brothers Stress Squeeze Toy (~$2): While this is technically L’s, I think he’s going to let me have it.  I love stress toys and this will be a nice addition to the collection!

~Star Wars Ground Assault Game Pack (~$5): If I am recalling correctly, we have received a set of these in the past. We gave them to my brother who loves Star Wars and I think we will be doing the same for this one!

~Pokemon Card Set (~$2): I don’t know too much about Pokemon and L doesn’t either, L also doesn’t care and thought these were cool.

~Tech Deck Longboard (~$4): Totally a kid thing, I don’t even know what to do with this, but L did!  And he thought it was very cool and I have not seen it since!

~Star Wars Yoda Plush Toy ($4):WB and L both think this is adorable and I am sure will be stealing it back and forth from each other.  I still haven’t shown L the Star Wars movie, but it’s a summer MUST DO!

~Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Water Grow Turtle ($6.99): This is suppose to grow to 800x it’s size and I am really looking forward to seeing how big this thing gets.  We have it in a bucket on the dock and I am guessing we probably should have used a bigger bucket ;).

All totaled I came up with a value of $23.99 for the May 2014 Nerd Block Jr.  I thought last month was cooler, but we still totally love Nerd Block Jr. and L loved getting it every month!
