Yay! My May 2014 NewBeauty TestTube has arrived! I actually loved my last one so much that I knew I had to keep my subscription. I have actually been counting down the days until this one came.
If you aren’t familiar, TestTube is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind sampling program that enables members the opportunity to try a variety of the latest breakthrough beauty products before investing in them, and then share their feedback about the products. Six times a year, for just $29.95 (plus shipping and handling), subscribers receive a TestTube filled with deluxe and full-size products from the hottest beauty brands. Members will also receive a subscription to NewBeauty magazine, delivered quarterly. I should note that this is different than QVC New Beauty Test Tube, which is a quarterly subscription.
NewBeauty TestTube ships via FedEx Smart Post. I believe I got a tracking notification on this one on April 29th and it arrived today, on the 1st. That could be a SmartPost record for me.
NewBeauty TestTube has fabulous packaging and it looked like a present. And it actually was. A present from me to me. LOL!
Eeek! I was so excited to dig into this! I knew it was coming today because I was tracking it, but it wasn’t on my porch with all my other deliveries today. My mail lady had it in the mailbox. She likes to keep my on my toes I guess?
NewBeauty TestTube has one of the best information “cards” out there. It’s actually a book and has product information, how to use, a little information about the company, as well as, information on where to buy it. Here is what my May 2014 NewBeauty TestTube included:
~TanTowel Classic Self-Tan Towelettes ($12): I love TanTowels! I haven’t bought any yet for this year, so this is awesome. They are SO easy to use and give me a nice glow that doesn’t look all orange and fake.
~Macadamia Natural Oil Flawless Cleansing Conditioner ($12.38): Umm, what is this magic in a can? It’s to be used in place of your shampoo and conditioner on wet hair. It detangles, give shine and, get this, reduces blow drying time. I will for sure be incorporating this into my routine. For sure. Maybe every second day?
~Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick ($25): I have actually tried this in a few colors and I love it! You put it in and then you have 30 seconds to blend it in before it “sets”. You can also use it as an eyeliner if you want.
~Revision Skincare Intellishade Broad-Spectrum SPF 45 (~$10): How on earth this tinted moisturizer works for everyone I will never know, but I can confirm that it works for me. I have tried it a few times in the past and I tried it again today. Your skin just looks like your skin with this on, but better.
~Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair ($4.95): My hair is looking pretty good these days, so I don’t need to use this just yet (it helps resuscitate dry, damaged or chemically treated hair). I am certain I will soon though because I am planning to do a DIY ombre on my hair this weekend and if that doesn’t go well, I will need to re-dye and that’s just a lot of chemicals in a short time.
~Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream ($1.73): I have been meaning to pick this up and haven’t gotten around to it. It’s suppose to improve the look of your skin within one day and gives you five visible benefits after give days. I will be picking up the full size of this so I can give it the full test!
~Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream ($1.28): This is a head to toe moisturizing skin cream that delivers serious hydration to the spots that need it. I tested it on my lips and they felt very smooth, but the smell isn’t the greatest. It’s kind of Vicks? I would probably use it in my feet / hands at night in the future. But it really does work and gets rave reviews at Sephora.
NewBeauty TestTube also includes a “Beauty To Go” bag with extra products and samples that aren’t listed on the information card. Not all subscribers get the same items, but every tube does have this extra bag of goodies!
~Camille Beckman Hand Therapy ($4.95): My hands for sure felt softer after I put this on, but I am torn on the smell. It’s not bad, but it’s not something I would buy on my own either. I’ll use it though. No hand cream goes to waste around here!
~Stila Face the Day ($11.18): I don’t know that I have ever tried a Stilla skincare item before. In fact, I am not even sure I knew they made skincare? Interesting. I put this on to test it and thought it make my skin feel nice and hydrated, but obviously after only one use I can’t tell if it firms skin like it promises. I wonder how long you need to test things to see true results? Do you think the average is like 3-4 weeks?
~Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths (Sample): If only it were warm enough to need to be cooled down. LOL!!! I will throw these in my bag though and hopefully soon – very soon – I will need to try them.
~CoTZ Face Sunscreen (Sample): This too will head in my bag for a day that I didn’t really plan to spend outside or forgot sunscreen for my face! I hate applying body sunscreen to my face because it makes it breakout, but sometimes I have no choice if I am unprepared.
All totaled I came up with a value of $83.47 for the May 2014 NewBeauty TestTube! The Tube is $38.90 ($29.95 + $7.95) shipping, so this Tube was worth over double the cost! I am loving this sub and wish I would have signed up sooner!
