First Look

I totally loved this packaging.  Isn’t it so cute?  Paper Dots selects books for you based on your questionnaire answers.  It has questions like what was the last book you read, why did you like it, what was the last book you read and didn’t finish, what genre of books do you like, etc.  I was pretty specific in my answers so I was really excited to see what they selected for me.

The Information Card

The information card isn’t tailored specifically to the book you receive, but rather gives you a general description to the idea behind Paper Dots.  I imagine it would be very difficult to prepare different information cards for everyone!  Here was there selection for me this month:

~Me Before You by JoJo Moyes: Let me first say that not only have I never heard of this book, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up if I saw it.  No real explanation for why not.  I just wouldn’t have.  But I read the description and a few reviews and it sounds amazing!  As soon as I finish my current book, I am going to start this one.  I am not the kind of person who can read two books at once.  I just end up confused.  But this will be started this week and I am highly looking forward to it!

~The Extra: The extra this month are two little cups and a drink recipe to enjoy as you read the book.  I am not familiar with “Pimm’s”, but it sounds pretty tasty!

The Extra

I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box (the paperback version I received is $25/month) because I think this is one of those subscriptions that is more about the experience and the curation than the savings.  I also think this would make a great gift and I am so looking forward to seeing what they pick out for me next month!

OOOHHHH that book… that book that book. I adored it, and have another one of hers on hold at the library. Her writing is just beautiful.

I am so looking forward to starting it!

This book is wonderful with kind of a complex ending. I couldn’t put it down.

    1. Jennifer

Everyone is making me so excited to start it!

  2. Sophie

That’s one of my favorite books. Hope you enjoy it!

I am starting to tonight I think! I finished my other book today.

I love the concept…but when you can buy the paperback for less than $10…it’s hard to justify paying an additional $15 just for someone sending you the book. Pay me $20 and I’ll mail you first class a book to read every month 🙂

The book they sent was one of my book club reads a few months ago. You’re right, not a book I would have chosen myself but I ended up enjoying it.

I can’t wait to start it!

I would be so awful picking out books for someone else. I would have no clue where to start! What book are you reading now?

      1. Mrs. L

Currently reading “Joyland” by Stephen King but the next book club book (we meet every two months) is “The Wife, The Maid, and The Mistress” 🙂

Me Before You is great! I definitely would not have picked it based on the cover, either. Seems like an 80s romance novel. But I bet you’ll like it.

      I will check it out!

Jen, this blog is DANGEROUS! I am an avid reader, so of cooooourse I went and subscribed (and I gave ROASB credit for referring me). This looks so cute and like such a sweet surprise.

I hope you like the book!

Yay! Report back on what book you get!!

I loved this book! But this box should have come with a box of Kleenex. I agree with Mrs. L, hard to justify the price, I saw this book last night for 11.99 at target. But it’s already there with you and it’s fantastic, so read that puppy! I’m stuck trying to decide my next book, it’s either the new Emily Griffin or a The Silent Wife.

    1. Jennifer

I just finished the new Emily Giffin today! I don’t even know what to say about it! I loved it, but I also hated it. LOL!!!

I know that feeling well! You’ll probably feel that exact way about Me Before You!
