Paper Dots, who kindly sent me this to review, sends subscribers one handpicked, expert-curated book to their doorstep each month. Books are selected to engage and entice subscribers into becoming a committed reader. Boxes also include “a little something” extra to help the words come off the pages and into your life!

The Box

Paper Dots ships via USPS Media Mail.  It took four days to arrive, but Media Mail shipping time can vary.

First Look

I totally loved this packaging.  Isn’t it so cute?  Paper Dots selects books for you based on your questionnaire answers.  It has questions like what was the last book you read, why did you like it, what was the last book you read and didn’t finish, what genre of books do you like, etc.  I was pretty specific in my answers so I was really excited to see what they selected for me.

The Information Card

The information card isn’t tailored specifically to the book you receive, but rather gives you a general description to the idea behind Paper Dots.  I imagine it would be very difficult to prepare different information cards for everyone!  Here was there selection for me this month:

~Me Before You by JoJo Moyes: Let me first say that not only have I never heard of this book, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up if I saw it.  No real explanation for why not.  I just wouldn’t have.  But I read the description and a few reviews and it sounds amazing!  As soon as I finish my current book, I am going to start this one.  I am not the kind of person who can read two books at once.  I just end up confused.  But this will be started this week and I am highly looking forward to it!

~The Extra: The extra this month are two little cups and a drink recipe to enjoy as you read the book.  I am not familiar with “Pimm’s”, but it sounds pretty tasty!

The Extra

I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box (the paperback version I received is $25/month) because I think this is one of those subscriptions that is more about the experience and the curation than the savings.  I also think this would make a great gift and I am so looking forward to seeing what they pick out for me next month!
