Trunk Club
Cost: No Styling Fee. Trunk price varies depending on your selections.
Ships To: United States.
B and I had just been talking about how he needed some new work clothes when we got an e-mail from B’s stylist at the Trunk Club asking if we wanted to her to send us a trunk! Why yes we do as a matter of fact! B has gotten trunks two other times and it makes the shopping process so much easier!
If you aren’t familiar with them, Trunk Club is a men’s clothing service where a personal stylist handpicks a trunk of high-end clothes and ships it to you for free. When you first order a Trunk Club you go through all the steps online to complete a profile (which includes measurements and sizes) and then you set up a call with your personal stylist (ours is Megan) to discuss what you are looking for in your trunk, how much you want to spend, etc.
Trunk Club does send higher end (i.e. more expensive) pieces of clothing (and accessories), but you can totally let them know what your price points are like, what you are comfortable spending, etc. The size of the trunk and number of pieces included varies based on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. There is no styling fee and you only pay for what you keep (you get a return address label to ship everything else back). Trunk Club now has a “Review Your Trunk” feature so you can check out the pieces your stylist has selected and decide if you want to see them / try them on in person or just skip them from your trunk all together!
Trunk Club ships via FedEx and arrived to me in like two days. It wasn’t scheduled to arrive until this week, but it was delivered on Saturday and was waiting for us when we got back home!
B was so anxious to dig through his trunk that I didn’t get too many good pictures! I did the online preview and I am the one that talks to his stylist so everything inside was a surprise to him.
The Trunk Club includes an information card which gives you prices for the items in your trunk. You can “check out” online or through their new iPhone app. Or I am guessing if you just returned your trunk with the pieces you didn’t want, they’d bill you for the ones you kept.
Here is what was included in B’s Trunk Club this month:
~Bonobos Bayside Pink Gingham Slim Fit Shirt ($85): We both like this shirt and it fits B very well. He’s always happy with his Bonobos stuff (Bonobos and Trunk Club share an owner) and this was no exception. Verdict: Kept.
~Bonobos Blue Gingham Slim Fit Shirt ($85): Another hit! Both of these shirts were described as slim fit, however I think this blue gingham one had a slimer cut than the pink one. Verdict: Kept.
~A.G. Slim Linen Khaki (Light Grey) ($168): I really like these, but B thinks they are kind of big at the bottom. He says they are kind of wide? I however, think they look fabulous and just need to be hemmed. Verdict: Returned.
~A.G. Slim Linen Khaki (Beige): These are the same pants as above – just in a different color. I like this color slightly more than the light grey (I think it’s just more practical) and am going to work on getting B to keep them. He looks good in them and I seriously think if they would have been the right length right away, these both would have been kept. Verdict: Undecided.
~Bonobos Slim Fit Pique Polo (White) ($58): B is super picky about traditional polo shirts, but really likes Bonobos, so I was anxious to see what he would think of this. He loved the fit, but decided that the white just didn’t work for him. Had it been any other color, he would have kept it. Verdict: Returned.
~Brooklyn Sock Co. Diamond Sock ($14): I was totally cracking up when B saw the price sheet and was like OMG those are $14! He was shocked they cost “so much”. Little does he know that’s how much basically all the other socks he owns and wears cost. Clearly he doesn’t buy his own socks. They are kind of long though so we nixed them. I do, however, love the pattern! Verdict: Returned.
~Alternative Apparel Short Sleeve Wagner Henley (Grey) ($48): In pictures and even when B took it out of the box I loved this shirt. Loved it. It’s so soft and the material is fabulous. However, it just didn’t look right on B. Perhaps it wasn’t tight enough? It’s possible a smaller size would have worked better. Not sure.
~Taylor Vintage Walking Shorts (Blue) ($78): I shouldn’t have had them send these because B has a similar pair of shorts in the exact same color. The fit was good though. And the polo shirt with the shorts is totally not a B outfit. Even if he had both of those pieces he would never pair them together. Just not him! Verdict: Returned.
~Cole Haan Hudson Venetian Driving Loafer ($198): These shoes are actually less red and more brown than my picture shoes, but umm, B loves them. I think he told me about six times when he was trying on all this stuff that he was keeping the shoes. Okay, got it. Keeping the shoes ;). Verdict: Kept
~Original Max’s Garments Short Sleeve Johnny Collar Polo (Blue) ($65): OMG love. Like love. This shirt is totally B and fits him so nicely. I am going to for sure look into this brand for other pieces for him. The material on this is amazing and we love it. Verdict: Kept.
~J. Press Perfect Sportshirt Check (Light Blue) ($88): We both totally loved the print and colors of this shirt, but sadly it didn’t fit right. It was tight in the chest and I was afraid that he was going to rip it if he moved too much! LOL! Verdict: Returned.
As usual, we kept a few pieces and returned a few pieces as well! I love the items that Trunk Club picks for us and it is so much easier than going to the store with the kids and having B try on a bunch of stuff. I am going to do this seasonally and should set a reminder to order a fall trunk in August!

So, he kept the shoes. LOL. They do look cool.
LOL. Yes, did he mention he wanted to keep the shoes? Because he’s keeping them.
I’m a single gal, so don’t have any need really for this one, but I just wanted to say what a good sport your hubby is modeling everything! Also I’m with him, love the shoes!
He is the best sport. I would never be game for this. He doesn’t care.
Oh my when I saw the first pic and the Cole Hann I knew he was going to keep them. Didn’t you just say he didn’t have any boat type shoes? I’ve only ever had one pair of Cole Hann shoes and loved them they are such a nice shoe.
Ha!!! I told the stylist he needed shoes and these were exactly what we had in mind. Although I just said “shoes” that would work for work or play and gave no other details. LOL!

Thanks!
So many awesome pieces!! I LOVE that blue polo!! Omg I want it for my husband. My husband is starting a new job and maybe I can convince him to try this!!!
The blue polo is amazing. Seriously. He needs it.
Lol I love how he modeled for you! Are all their clothes that expensive?
You can give them your price points, but I would say that they are on the higher end!
I just wanted to comment, I found your site when searching for lower priced products from the Trunk that I received. I’m not opposed to spending money on quality products but a $200 button down was a bit much. What I did notice however, is that I received almost the exact same products in my Trunk, Max Polo, Vintage Shorts all but the $14 socks. I’ll try it again but I thought that was interesting.
That is interesting! I agree on the $200 button down. LOL. Maybe every once in a while, but thats a bit much for every shirt! I’m just guessing here, but I feel like they have fewer “lower” priced choices, so that may be why we got the same?
Wait, did he keep the shoes? 😉
Did he mention he wanted to keep the shoes?
Thank you for sharing your Trunk Club reviews. I took the plunge and signed up this month for my hubby.
Let me know what he thinks!
He really loves the service, clothes and was thrilled with the surprise. http://berrymorinbits.blogspot.com/2014/06/trunk-club-has-arrived-may-2014.html
Ohh, I am off to read!
My husband just requested this box (on his own) and it came a couple of days ago packed with clothing that I laughed at when I saw the price tags! Holy smokes, these people don’t believe in a good sale. Our oldest daughter works at Ralph Lauren, and when Ralph prices look cheap in comparison… That said, I would have totally splurged on the $600 blazer and one of the $135 shirts if the hubs wasn’t trying to shed a few lbs.
Definitely not a box for now, but we might try to again later when the man is happy with his pant size.
