Zoobean, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which helps you build your individual child’s literacy with remarkable children’s books and apps selected just for him or her.  You may select from a monthly book delivery service (from $9.99/month) that gives you one hardcover or paperback book each month, along with an app recommendation + literacy guides or a digital service option (from $2.99/month) and receive weekly personalized app + book recommendations that come with literacy guides.  And like I mentioned when I did the review on WB’s book (you can check that out here), Zoobean was also on Shark Tank a few weeks ago!  They got a deal with Mark Cuban, which is awesome for them.  As you know, I love Shark Tank and love it even more when I see one of “my” subscription boxes on there!

The Package

Zoobean ships via USPS Media Mail.  Sometimes Media Mail is speedy, sometimes it’s slow.  But it’s totally the best way to ship books, so I get why they use it!

The Book

H.O.R.S.E. A Game of Basketball and Imagination

L’s book selection this month was “H.O.R.S.E. A Game of Basketball and Imagination” ($14.5o on Amazon right now). I have never heard of this one, but it cracked L up!  I actually don’t know that there are too many books that L wouldn’t love.  His attention is kept by 99% of books he reads.   This would be a good one for story time in elementary school I think.  Kids would love to chime in on where they would make a basket from.

The App

The Monster at the End of This Book

L’s App selection this month was “The Monster at the End of This Book” (on sale for $4.99 in the iTunes store).  It’s recommended ages are 3-6 and I feel like it’s on the young side for L.  However, I am going to get it anyway because he can play with it now and then WB will be able to have it for later.  He likes books he can read himself, so this will fit the bill.

The Zoobean plan I received is $14.95, which includes the monthly hardcover book + the digital reading guide + the app selection and app companion.  The book itself is nearly $14 on Amazon, so you are basically getting all those other goodies for about $1! If you are interested in just the Digital Service, it’s $2.99/month and you will receive a  Receive a weekly email that includes an expert created Reading Guide or App Companion along with a book or app recommendation.  And then you can pick up the book at the bookstore or borrowing it from your local library!
