Birchbox Man
Cost: $20/month.
Ships To: United States.
I was shocked to see my mailman standing on my porch with B’s Birchbox Man box yesterday. This happened last month as well so it was the second month in a row I was totally spoiler free!
If you aren’t familiar, Birchbox Man is $20/month and sends you monthly deliveries of deluxe grooming and lifestyle samples, tailored to your profile. With Birchbox Man you can try cult brands, up-and-coming lines, and everything in between.
Birchbox Man ships via USPS through Newgistics and took four days to arrive. It felt like it came much more quickly though since I didn’t even know it shipped until the day before it arrived (and did not think I would get it so quickly).
This’s month box was a collaboration with Details which you could tell by both the outer packaging and inner Birchbox.
Other than know that this month was a collaboration I didn’t know anything about this box. I didn’t see the sneak peek video, I didn’t peek at Instagram to see if anyone got their box, nothing!
The July 2014 Birchbox theme was “Best in Show” and featured the very best grooming products hand selected along with the folks at Details Magazine. B received Box #6 (*) this month which included the following items:
~Baxter of California Oil Free Moisturizer ($2.75): This moisturizer is for morning and night an dis designed to heal and hydrate your skin. It’s totally my fault (because that closet was such a mess) but B hasn’t been using this samples like he used to. But now that it’s all sorted out he’s going to be excited to see I have all his stuff super organized and ready to use.
~Proraso Liquid After Shave Cream ($4): I am so hoping that all the shaving products B has will inspire him to continue with the clean shaven look he’s had going on while he was gone. I know he really likes this brand so fingers crossed.
~Ursa Major Fantastic Face Wash (~$5): B and I are both always in need of more travel sized face washes (it seems like we don’t get as many of these as we get of other things), so this is perfect!
~V76 by Vaughn Energizing Conditioner & Energizing Shampoo ($2): I don’t know that B is every excited about packets of shampoo and conditioner, but he for sure will use them. I am excited because this counts as two products to review.
~V76 by Vaughn Lip Balm ($13): Awesome! If B doesn’t use this and I am going to steal it. Because I need more lip balm ;).
~Harry’s Truman Razor ($10): I have been wanting to try Harry’s for B and here is my chance. Birchbox included the razor and one blade and also a gift card with a code for four additional blades. I am going to order these ASAP for B and see if we should switch to Harry’s from Dollar Shave Club!
~Details Magazine Offer: This month’s box also included a coupon to redeem to get a year of details for only $5. It’s usually $10/year so that’s a great deal if you are a Details reader. I don’t know if B is so I need to find that out.
All totaled I came up with a value of $36.75 for the July 2014 Birchbox Man – “Best in Show” box. This doesn’t include the including points for doing reviews and purchasing the box itself (**) – which would bring the value up to $45.75 ($7 in Birchbox points for reviews and $2 in Birchbox points for purchasing)! Birchbox Man is $20/month, as is usually the case, this box was worth more than double the cost. The July box wasn’t overly exciting, but I think that every single sample will be used quickly and the razor is much appreciated.
