Yay! My June 2014 Birchbox is here! I have been having a slow couple of days around here but was excited to see this one in my mailbox today.

If you aren’t familiar, Birchbox, which is $10/month offers 4-6 hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. You can review the samples you receive on a monthly basis to earn points in their shop, which makes the “real” cost of the box even less. Points accumulate until you are ready to spend, so you can stockpile and combine with coupon codes and get some complete steals (which I try to do).

The Box

Birchbox ships via USPS and took four days to arrive this month.  My box shipped late last month, but this one left right on time.

The Birchbox

My mail actually came today when the internet guy was here installing our new lines and I am sure he thought I was a complete nut job for taking pictures of all my mail.  Oh well ;).

First Look

As usual I knew what was coming in this box because I peeked at my account when it was released.  However, I didn’t know what sizes everything would be, so that is always a surprise.

The Information Card

The June 2014 Birchbox theme is “Away We Go” and included travel-ready samples, on-the-go inspiration and much more.  I received box #52 (*) this month which contained the following items:

~Benefit They’re Real! Mascara ($8.12): Love this stuff!  I have tried it in the past and always enjoyed it.  It doesn’t clump and I like the wand on Benefit mascaras.  If I ever ran out of mascara from subscription boxes and had to buy one on my own, I would buy this.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

~Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain ($9.29): Is this not the cutest little lip gloss ever?  The color is fantastic and the formula is fabulous.  Not sticky or too heavy.  Just right!

Cynthia Rowley Creamy Lip Stain (Valentine)

~Perlier Body Cream ($4.25): This smells amazing.  I generally love almond scented things and this is no exception.  It’s not too heavy, but moisturized very nicely.  It also left my skin a little shimmery (not glittery, just shimmery) which I liked.

Perlier Body Cream (Shea Almond)

~English Laundry Signature for Her (~$3): Not my favorite scent I have received in a Birchbox, but it’s a nice.  Not nice enough on me to buy a full size, but nice enough to finish the sample.

English Laundry Signature for Her

~Lierac Micellar Cleansing Water ($4): It turns out that cleansing water is just a fancy term for makeup remover ;).  I’ll probably throw this in my travel bag because it is an awesome size and will last me a few trips.

Lierac Paris Micellar Cleansing Water

All totaled I came up with a value of $28.66 for my June 2014 Birchbox.  If I include the points for doing the reviews on the products in the box (which is equal to 50 points or $5 to spend at the Birchbox shop) and the points for purchasing the box (**) (10 points or $1), I get a total of $34.66 which is awesome since this box is only $10/month.  I thought I got a great June box and was very happy with this month!

Do you subscribe to Birchbox? Did you get your box yet this month? What number was it and what was in it?  If you don’t subscribe (it’s only $10/month) and are interested in learning more, click here. And I mentioned it earlier, but right now when you subscribe to Birchbox you can select an extra sample in your first box! Use code “SUMMERSHAVE” to receive a free Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream in Grapefruit or “SUMMERLIP” to receive a free Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain in Nude.  Additional sample choice is available for women’s monthly rebillable subscriptions and women’s yearly subscriptions. Available through June 23, 2014 11:59 p.m. or while supplies last.

(*) If you want to see all the boxes this month, click here and change the 1 at the end to anything from a 1 to 56 since there were 56 (in comparison, last month there were 47 box variations) box variations this month.
(**) You only get points for purchasing the box if you buy an annual subscription (or 3-month, 6-months, etc.). You don’t get points if you are on a month to month subscription.
