June 2014 Citrus Lane (2 Year-Old Boy)

Yay!  My June 2014 Citrus Lane box(es) are here!  I am going to do the review for WB’s box first (he’s 2), but I also received a box for a 4 year-old boy which I will review in the next day or two.

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane  is $29/month, but they have a coupon code “TAKE20OFF” which lets you pick up your first box for $9! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month.  I always opt for the longer subscription with them because it’s a way better deal.

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took the standard week to arrive.  It was scheduled to arrive tomorrow and I was hoping to get it yesterday, but it came today.

First Look

I knew (for the most part anyway), what was coming in this month’s box, but it is still always one of my favorite boxes to receive in the mail so I get excited to open it.

The Information Card

The June 2014 Citrus Lane box didn’t seen to have too much of a theme or focus, but it included the following items:

~Bumkins Classic Mickey Wet Bag ($10.95): We got to pick which Wet Bag option we wanted this month and I went for the Mickey Mouse one! I think it will be perfect for our trip to Disney and also perfect for L’s swim lessons. I have a few that I use now, but I think L is getting too old for my current patterns so until I can find a super hero one, Mickey Mouse will work out just fine!

~Skip Hop Straw Bottle (Bee) ($10.95):These are, no question, our favorite sippy / straw cups. WB loves them. I am not going to say that they don’t leak because my kids could make anything leak, but they are awesome. The handle on them is awesome because it lets WB carry them with one hand.  If you haven’t tried these yet, do it!!!

~Mudpuppy Puzzle (On The Road) ($12.99): I am going to save this for one of WB’s Quiet Time Boxes.  The boxes each picked a box to work on today and they were happily entertained for quite a while. A fresh puzzle that WB has never seen before will be perfect for these!

~Plum Organics Might 4 Bars ($2): Between L and WB these will be gone fast.  The amount of food consumed by these two is crazy.  I fear for what will happen when they are teenagers!

All totaled I came up with a value of $36.89 for the June 2014 Citrus Lane box.  It didn’t have the “wow” factor like some of their boxes do, but every single item is totally usable and works very well for WB right now.  The box also included a discount for ThirdLove which offers a bra fitting and shop to help take the embarrassment out of bra shopping at the store, but since you have to spend money to use it, I didn’t count it in the value of the box.

Did you get a Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?  If you are interested in subscribing, click here.   Now through 6/30, you can use the coupon code “TAKE20OFF” to save $20 off your first box!  That would make your first Citrus Lane box $9 which is incredible!!! You will be enrolled in a monthly subscription (which you can always cancel if you are not happy), but it’s totally an amazing way to try them out!  If you have your eye on a longer subscription or if you are a current subscriber and want to renew, check out the deal going on right now on Gilt City (you can read about it here).  It looks like the 12-month subscription is sold out, but the 6-month subscription is still available.
