Hamptons Lane
Cost: $47/month
Ships To: United States.
Hamptons Lane, who kindly sent me this box to review, curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes are $45/month and will be revealed at the beginning of every month. Boxes are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, The Best of BBQ, Summer Cocktails, etc. Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.
Hamptons Lane generally ships later in the month, but since this was a review box it came early and via FedEx.
Since you know what you are getting, the first look isn’t as surprising as it is with some of the other boxes. But it’s still fun to actually see everything in person that you have been looking at pictures of.
The June 2014 Hamptons Lane theme was “Gourmet Picnic” and included a selection of picnic essentials to elevate your outdoor dining experience. The information booklet also included three recipes to help you use all of the items included! Here is what was inside:
~American Flag Wine Tote from tote + able ($21): Ohh, this is awesome! I just got the mini one in last month’s Hazel Lane, so I am super excited to get the larger sized one as well. I want to use this tonight, but I don’t think it would be appropriate to fill it up with wine at an elementary school event ;).
~Custom Olivewood & Carbon Steel Knife from Pallares-Solsona ($49): Good knives are always so expensive (I know this because I have been wanting a new knife set for ages), so I appreciate that one is included in here. This will be great for cheeses and fruits and sandwiches and all that other summery stuff.
~Meaux Mustard from Pommery ($9): I know people love mustard, but I am not one of them. I think I will take this jar up-north so we (well B and my mom) have some fancy mustard up there!
~Fig & Onion Jam from Anarchy in a Jar ($8.99): Now this jam is incredible. We had it on burgers a while back on OMG fabulous. I highly recommend this. It turns a normal burger into a gourmet one so fast.
~Sweet Heat Pickles from Backyard Brine ($3.99): This is another B items. I feel like maybe we have gotten these in the past in a different box as well, but I have never tried them so I don’t know for sure.
All totaled I came up with a value of $91.98 for the June 2014 Hamptons Lane – “Gourmet Picnic” box. This is just about double the cost of the box ($47) which makes it a great value. I am totally happy with this box and I love that wine tote! I also really like the fact that you can skip boxes with Hamptons Lane if you aren’t interested.
What do you think of Hamptons Lane? If you are interested in subscribing or want to learn more, click here. You’ll get $10 off your first box (it’ll appear as a credit in your account and will be deducted when you are billed) using my link, which makes it an even better deal. I believe there is still time to opt in for the June box so you won’t even have to wait until next month for your first delivery!
