Today was a “slow”subscription box day (I only received 3 boxes ;), but one of the ones that did come was my June 2014 Kelly Rowland Fancy Box!
Just in case you aren’t familiar, Fancy, which is $39/month plus shipping, has a “regular” Fancy Box full of cool goodies and celebrity curated boxes which include a collection of the coolest products hand-picked by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Verbal, Kelly Rowland, Coco Rocha, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain and / or Tyler Florence. They also offer a Fancy Food Box (which is one of my favorites), as well as, Fancy Mystery Boxes.
Fancy Box ships via FedEx and took the usual two days to arrive. It shipped on Monday and I received it today (on Wednesday).
I wasn’t overly excited by the first look. Nothing really jumped out at me, but I was hoping to undercover some goodies in there!
The June 2014 Kelly Rowland Fancy Box didn’t have a stated theme, but it seemed to have a bit of a drinking theme to me which I thought was funny because Kelly Rowland just announced she was pregnant! Here is what was inside:
~Freeways Shot Glass Set ($28): We just got a set of a rocks glasses from this line (SoLA) in the Summer PopSugar box, plus I have a few pieces from previous Fancy boxes and now these! I suspect that if I lived in LA and traveled on their freeways I would need to take shots when I came home.
~Sunglasses by AJ Morgan ($25): I am not loving these. I just don’t think I can pull these off for some reason and will probably end up trading them.
~Verseur Wine Opener ($25): I received one of these in a previous Fancy box (I cannot recall which one off the top of my head) and debated if I should e-mail Fancy about it or not. They usually do a return or issue credit in cases of repeats. But I decided I’d just save this as a housewarming present for someone. This plus a bottle of wine would make a great gift!
~Illustrated Cocktail Recipes ($15): This is a fun recipe book. The illustrations are great and I am guessing the drinks are too!
All totaled I came up with a value of $93 for the June 2014 Kelly Rowland Fancy Box. While the value of the box was over twice the cost of the box, I was just meh on this one. I typically really like her Fancy Box picks though, so I will give it a go again next month!
