MakrBox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a way for you to discover independent makers from across the Pacific Northwest. It describes itself as being more than just a monthly subscription box of maker goodness and is also a way for you to support a local economy, inspire craft and encourage uniqueness.
MakrBox now offers the following three subscription options: Minimalist $14 (free shipping) which includes 1 to 2 small batch, consumable products per month, Classic $34 ($29 + $5 S/H) which included 2 to 3 items per month that are a balance of artisan crafted products and small batch, consumable goods and Maven $66.50 ($59 + $7.50 S/H) which includes 3 to 4 items beautifully designed artisan products for home, office and kitchen per month.
MakrBox ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive. This month’s box was smaller than normal, but it was still the “Classic” option.
I couldn’t tell what everything was in the first look, but I for sure wanted to check everything out further. MakrBox sends individual product information card which give you details on the Makers, the products, the uses and the materials used in the product. Here is what was included in the June 2014 Classic Box:
~Essential Apothecary Alchemist Lip Moisturizer ($4.25): I am surprised at how much I like this. The scent is a little different, but it’s so nice and very different than most lip balms I have tried. It’s not greasy, but it’s very moisturizing and goes on smooth.
~Mustard and Co. Mustard ($4.75): Mustard isn’t my condiment of choice (at all), but now that I have made my own mustard in a Homegrown Collective box, I do appreciate the work that it takes to create it.
~Love, Daniella Tea Towel ($25): I am loving all these fancy tea towels and turkish towels that I have been getting in subscription boxes lately. This one is gorgeous and I love it!
All totaled I came up with an estimated value of $34 for the June 2014 MakrBox! I think this was one of my favorite MakrBox boxes (even with the mustard because I know B will love that) and I loved the variety of items that were included!
