Wantable, who kindly sent me this box to review, offers 4 to 5 full-sized premium makeup products, hand-picked to perfectly match your preferences. They also offer intimates and jewelry boxes, again customized to your preferences.  And unlike the majority of other subscription boxes, Wantable allows you to return the box if you aren’t totally 100% happy. You just go into your account, go to your order history and click “Return Items” and you’ll get a prepaid label and a full refund.

The Box

Wantable now ships via DHL Global Mail and took just about a week to arrive.  I used to sometimes get my Wantable boxes in a day when they shipped via USPS, however, I think those days are over!

First Look

Great first look!  I was already liking what I saw in this one!

Preferences

Like I mentioned before, you can totally customize your Wantable box.  You fill out a questionnaire telling them what you Love, Like and Dislike.  You’ll get more of the things you love and none of the things you Dislike.  It also asks about color preferences and that sort of thing.  I am thinking about switching up my profile a bit for next month just for fun because I have had it this way for ages.

The Information Card

The June 2014 Wantable Makeup box includes the following items to help unleash  your inner summer goddess:

~La Bella Donna Mineral Light Lip (Shell) ($24.50): I put Lip Color as one of my “Loves” knowing that sometimes I would get a gloss which I really do love and sometimes I would get a lipstick which I don’t love at all.  But my SIL loves lipsticks (like LOVES) so I knew I would be able to find a home for any I receive.

~Mirabella Color Queen Shadow Duo (Titan / Haute) ($28.50):  Uh-oh!  There was a little bit of damage during shipping with this one I think!  The top layer (Titan?) was totally smashed, but the bottom color (Haute) was perfectly fine.  Had this not been a review box I probably would have contacted Wantable to get a replacement, which I am pretty sure they would have gladly sent.  However, I probably wouldn’t have used the blue anyway, but I do love the aqua color that remains, so all is well.

~Ofra Universal Eyebrow Eyeliner ($10): I am not sure that I have ever used an eyebrow eyeliner.  I have had some over-tweezing accidents were I could have used one, but never had one.  We’ll see about this thing!

~Vincent Longo Pressed Face Powder (Golden Sienna) ($28): I actually thought this was going to cost well over $28, so this is great!  I love it and I hope to see more Vincent Longo stuff down the road in Wantable boxes.

All totaled I came up with a value of $91 for the June 2014 Wantable Makeup box.  Even with the cracked shadow I am a happy girl!  And my SIL will be happy with her lipstick too!  Boxes are $36/month if you have a subscription and can also be purchased individually for $40!

Do you subscribe to Wantable?  If so, what’d you get in your box (makeup or accessories or intimates) this month?  If you get the accessories one, tell me more!  What kind of things do you get?  Do you love it?  And if you don’t subscribe, what are you waiting for?  Click here to subscribe or learn more.

Oh WOW too bad the shadow broke I always think their packing is so great with the egg carton smooshing. LOL I’m sure you could still use the blue if you wanted to just with a little brush or something.

I know! I was really surprised. This was the first time anything like this had happened!

You can always fix broken powder. Completely smash it and add rubbing alcohol until it becomes paste like and then smooth it over and it’ll dry and become good as new.

I really hate that they changed their shipping – it’s my favorite box (the intimates one) and I loved the almost instant-gratification.

I know! It used to be so fast!

Wantable Accessories seemed interesting based on their website and detailed questionnaire. Forget it. I got a box of junk. For $36 (not $25 like their competitor Chic who does about the same thing).

Cheap earrings that did not even match each other on the seams. They are unwearable. An OK ring, that I cannot fault, an everyday simple ring. Then, and my profile is a “Classic middle-aged” woman, a Halloween orange watch! They listed it as “coral” as if I must be color-blind as well as middle aged! Also is too heavy to weigh, unless maybe it’s supposed to be a piece of exercise equipment?

For the “care” presumably put into a unique box for a first time customer, they either have a 17-year old pothead for my “stylist” or just a very loose sense of fashion.

As for value, I dislike “$15” listed for an items, or whatever. We all know they can stick any price they want on something bought bulk and made in China, which all this stuff is. It’s it not hand-crafted jewelry. Hey, fine, I am expecting “costume” but not dime-store level. The price is irrelevant, because the quality should be seen by the customer. It should be obvious.

As for that “If you’re not satisfied, it’s free!” – just try to get it. I cannot even get a return email so far and the link for label does NOT work. Jaennifer please verify just how teh company really operates before you cut and paste these slogans on your reviews.

I haven’t heard of anyone having problems with the return shipping label and I don’t have problems accessing it in my account either. I hope you are able to get it straightened out!

Karen: It’s clear that you are confusing Wantable with a different subscription service. Or maybe you work for the “Chic” that you mentioned?
