~Happy Monday!  We had a such a fun and relaxing weekend that I don’t even mind it’s Monday.  Okay, well I mind a little.  But whatever.  B’s traveling this week so the kids and will be making our own fun.  I need to grocery shop, go to the Post Office, pick up a new Fresh Mask from Lush (probably my favorite “To-Do List” item) and seriously start tagging garage sale stuff.

~Birchbox announced late last night that their latest Limited Edition Box “Modern Mermaid” goes on sale tomorrow!  The box is $44 and is available while supplies last.  You know I will be picking this one up!  It’s not showing up on their site yet, but I’ll post a reminder tomorrow when it goes on sale!

~Did anyone watch The Bachelorette last night?  B watched for about two seconds and declared that it would be awkward to be with all those guys who are all going after the same girl as you.  Obviously.  I really disliked some of these guys last night.  Ick.  I did peek at spoilers (how does Reality Steve know everything?) though and I must say I am pleased!  And so ready for the drama that tonight is going to bring!

~I am expecting an assortment of boxes this week (as usual), but I am most excited for the Summer Fun PopSugar Box! Eeek! I am so hoping for spoilers on this one today or tomorrow! I am also expecting Hamptons Lane, Julep, my Julep Perfect 10 Mystery Boxes, the Father’s Day Fancy Box, the Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy Box, Fabletics and my Wantable Makeup and Wantable Intimates boxes! Should be another fun week.  It’s been a slow few days so I am excited for things to pick back up.

~Did you heard that Honest Co. has partnered with Target and will be available in stores on June 15th?  I get their essentials bundles every month and still will, but I am excited that I will be able to run to Target and grab something if I run out before my next delivery is due! I am also anxious to see if they carry the full line or just the popular items or what they do?

~If you just cook for one what are some of your favorite meals?  B’s going to be here and there this month, so it’s just really going to be me and no Plated or B cooked meals.  Ideas?  Anything fairly clean (I am trying to clean up my act) and crockpot friendly?  Kid friendly would be a total bonus!

~This weeks newsletter will be out later today or tomorrow, so be on the lookout.  As usual, there will be a new giveaway in there!  And speaking of giveaways, keep an eye out for my newest one which will be up today or tomorrow as well!

What’s up for your Monday? Any big plans this week?  And of course, what subscription boxes are you expecting this week?

  1. how can they do this box without deborah lippman polish? because it’s the one thing that’s like MERMAID to me!

welcome to my cooking world. nothing that you can make for normal american kids is clean. my kids are currently wild about meatballs (i get the aidells from costco or just the kirkland kind), mashed potatoes (i just a bag of them, so bad), and gravy (better than bouillon makes a non nasty kind). and jelly (lingonberry from ikea or just cranberry jelly). and grilled cheese sandwiches. just buy a bag of salad and eat that and the kids leftovers. haha.

    1. Jennifer

I also wondered that! However, since I have that polish, I am okay with it 😉

It’s hard! I feel for you!

        1. Jennifer

          OMG really???? That is amazing!

  2. Shelby

Darn, wish I had points to buy that Birchbox!

    1. Jennifer

OMG I am so glad I saved mine!

  3. Allison

I love the Bertolli frozen meals in a bag. Serves two, but would probably work for a mom and two kids, or as leftovers for a day, for one.

    1. Jennifer

      That would be easy!

  4. Amanda

I’m excited for the June Golden Tote opening today! I also need to check out that limited Birchbox 🙂

    1. Jennifer

I am so pumped for that Birchbox!!!

I was so excited when I saw the new limited edition Birchbox post! I love all of the products. Hopefully I can snag one, as last LE box, I ordered and then received an e-mail that they’d run out! I was super excited about the Honest Co./Target partnership. I saw a lot of people complaining about it on their Facebook page, but I love the idea of being able to stop a few blocks from my house and pick up what I need! 😀

    1. Jennifer

I like that idea too! I don’t mind at all!

Both my husband and I hate cooking. So my first recommendation is take out. If you really do want to cook we sometimes make shredded chicken in a crockpot. Just add chicken breast, stock, and salt and pepper, then cook all day, and finally shred. Super easy. Then we use that throughout the week to make meals. Chicken tacos, enchiladas, salads, bbq chicken sandwiches, pastas. Really anything that requires chicken.

    1. Jennifer

I too hate cooking! I am always afraid I won’t cook the chicken long enough!

I had no idea about The Honest Company! I’m pretty excited. I really like Jessica Alba from a values-standpoint and because she seems so down-to-earth. While I’m not a mom and a lot of her products are mom-oriented (so I’ve never really ordered anything), I think I’m most excited to try out some of her baby-oriented bath items. I have really sensitive skin (super, mega sensitive). 🙂 Intrigued by the dishwasher packs, too.

    1. Jennifer

I highly recommended the bath / body wash!!!

      Thanks!

I’m curious to see the price point on the Honest at Target. I wonder if it will still be cheaper to bundle. I love the Honest Essentials!

    1. Jennifer

I am also curious about this!

I totally forgot that the Bach. was on last night, and missed it! Bummer! But I’ll definitely be tuning in tonight! I’m kind of excited to see Honest Co’s stuff at Target, though — I don’t subscribe because at this point I don’t have to buy that kind of stuff very often anymore. But when I do, it would be nice to have the option!

    1. Jennifer

It will be nice! I am going to go on the 15th to see what they have!

  10. Chastity

Saw the Honest Baby wipes at my Target they were $4.99 for a pack of 100. Might be cheaper to do a bundle online if you use them regularly! I love the Honest line! Excited to get my first bundle this week!

    1. Jennifer

I should probably know this, but how much are they if you buy them outside of the bundle? $4.99?

      1. Chastity

Yup $4.99, not much of a deal otherwise without that needed bundle pack.

  11. Chastity

On a side note, I didn’t see any other Honest items..Hopefully, by the end of the month there will be more on the shelves. I live in L.A. You’d think they’d be more readily available since the main office is 30 mins west of L.A.

it’s different with cooking when you have kids and when you don’t so what is good for me might not be useful for you 🙂
I mostly eat just chicken (from meat, if I cook at home) and when it was colder I maked a risotto and added grilled veggies and pumpkin seeds, sometimes cashews to it, maybe stirred a fried egg inside to resemble chinese fried rice. I fried chicken in soy sauce or black bean or honey garlic sauce. now that it’s much warmer we make a salad with tons of veggies such as all kinds of beans, shredded carrot and cabbage, beansprouts, pepper, onion, corn, chickpeas and also pumpkin seeds, sometime I add a boiled egg, ham or some kind of cheese to it, also, I skip oil because I don’t need it, I add vinegar and some kind of salad sauce.
we also make mexican food, mostly fajitas or quesadillas with refried beans, avocado and some of the beforementioned ingredients.
another fast option is a stir fry with rice noodles. I found many nice recipes on budgetbytes website and on pinterest as well.
wild rice is also cool in a salad, very filling 🙂 and I enjoy adding my ingredients to store bought cup soups as well, making them more like a ramen.
it would be hard going to a diet if you have kids, having to cook separately for them, I can onlyimagine. along with some snacks like banana bread or cashews or fruit, I tune my daily intake to 1200 calories or 1500 when I go to the gym.

    1. Jennifer

I sort of cheated tonight and picked up a pre-made Perfect Fit Turkey Enchilada meal from the grocery store and added avocado and pico de gallo. It was quite good.

      1. mirta

sounds good, I believe we don’t have that meal over here, what was the brand? 🙂

      2. mirta

indeed, we don’t have that brand or store 🙂 hope it was tasty! 🙂

  13. Lynsey

I hit up LUSH today I got two new masks p, Cosmetic Warrior (wearing now lol) and Brazened Honey!! I love LUSH trips 😉

    1. Jennifer

Ohh, how is Cosmetic Warrior? I feel like a bee when I have the Honey one on, but I like it!

      1. Lynsey

LOOOOOOOVE the Cosmetic Warrior it made my face feel like a baby butt and I love it!!

  14. Lynsey

Do you use the Honest Co. Dishwasher Pods? I hate them and don’t know if it is just me?? I got this nasty film on all my dishes so I ordered her rinse aid but nope its so nasty, maybe just because there is no harsh chemicals??

    1. Jennifer

I do. Sometimes the pods don’t break all the way up and I hate them. But unless my dishwasher is dirty they don’t leave film. Sometimes I have to run it with no dishes in it.

      1. Lynsey

OK I am going to try that tonight I have never done that before. I want to love them but ugh LOL
