July 2014 Julep Maven Poolside Collection (Bombshell Box)

Yesterday’s great mail day included so many great boxes that I almost forgot that my July Julep Maven box was in there!

If you aren’t familiar, Julep is a monthly nail polish subscription service.  They have recently switched a few things up and are now offering a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products.  Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers.  Subscribers prior to 4/29/14 are grandfathered in at the $19.99/month rate, however, they will need to upgrade if they want to customize their boxes.  If you opt for a prepaid subscription of 3-months, you can also get the $19.99/rate which is fully customizable!

The Box

Julep previously shipped via USPS Priority Mail, however, all boxes are now shipping via DHL Global Mail.  I always wondered how Julep was able to send nail polish via air (aka Priority Mail), but it kind of appears that they have realized they can’t?  Not too sure, but I know my box took nearly a week longer to arrive with DHL than it used to take with USPS.

First Look

I don’t know what happens to me when I am placing my Julep order, but I seem to have ordered the max amount of add-ons again this month.  And somehow I always seem to forget until my box arrives in the mail. LOL.  I was wondering why it was so heavy!

The Information Card

The July 2014 Julep Maven theme was “The Poolside Collection”.   I haven’t made the switch to the fully customized box yet (I was grandfathered in at the old $19.99 rate and am holding out so I don’t have to switch to the new $24.99 rate) so I had to select from the “preset” box options.  I opted for “Bombshell” this month which included the following items:

~Julep Body Milk ($19.20 / $24): Totally love.  I knew I wanted to try this when I saw the spoilers and it didn’t disappoint.  The smell is light, but amazing.  I will for sure pick this up again.

Julep Body Milk

~Julep Lissa ($11.20 / $14): Lissa is a Tumbled turquoise crème and is probably my favorite color in the entire collection this month. I love it and it’s totally screams poolside to me!

Julep Lissa

~Julep Beverly ($11.20 / $14): Beverly is a Boysenberry crème, and while pretty probably isn’t what I would have opted for had I customized my box. I know I would have ended up buying it anyway though, so I am happy!

Julep Beverly

My Add-Ons: I opted to add-on the Clean Slate Polish Corrector Pen, Clean Slate Conditioning Nail Polish Remover & Pump & Braiden (which is a Graphite stardust (textured matte glitter)) this month. And while I didn’t know it, I got two free polishes (the navy and the white) for filling all my add-on spots this month! Not a bad deal at all.

Add-Ons

All totaled I came up with a value of $41.60 for the July 2014 Julep Maven Bombshell box from “The Poolside Collection”!  That’s using Julep Maven prices and doesn’t include my add-ons!  I loved the colors this month and am looking forward to getting some of the other colors from this collection down the road!
