Lunch Balancer
Cost: $40/month ($32 +8 S/H).
Ships To: United States.
Lunch Balancer, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly box of 5 nutritionally-balanced, high protein, low carb, convenient, tasty, on-the-go meals for less than $6.50 each meal (plus shipping). Meals are designed to promote long-lasting energy, balanced blood sugar, and weight control.
My Lunch Balancer arrived via FedEx and took less than a week to arrive. It was heavy and the box was huge.
I couldn’t remember the concept of Lunch Balancer when I opened the box so I was super curious to find out what all those dots meant!
Happily there was an easy to follow information card that explained everything! The colored dots represented how the items grouped together to make a meal. So smart.
The Lunch Balancer also includes a nutritional information card which shows how each meal is balanced. The card shows calories, protein, total fat, total carbs, fiber and net carbs. Here are how each of the meals broke down:
~Day 1: The first meal includes two Shelton’s Turkey Sticks, The Real Deal Veggie Chips, Orchard Valley Harvest Almonds and Matt’s Munchies Mango Fruit Snacks. B separated out all of these meals to take to work and is most excited about this one because of the turkey sticks!
~Day 2: The second meal included Kay’s Cinnamon Pretzel Sticks, Barney Almond Butter, Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Crackers, The Good Bean Roasted Chickpeas and Hail Merry Choco Macaroons. I think this was the meal that interested me the most. Probably because it has almond butter!
~Day 3: The third meal included Tapaz 2 Go, Sensible Foods Roasted Edamame and Bobbysue’s Nuts Almonds & Cashews. I’ve had the Tapaz 2 Go before and really liked it. If you haven’t tried it I totally recommend it.
~Day 4: The fourth meal includes Eden Foods Organic Pumpkin Seeds, Dr. McDougall’s Lentil Couscous Soup, Simply7 Quinoa Chips and Veggie Go’s Sweet Potato Pie. This is another meal that I would totally be into (if B didn’t plan on taking it all to work anyway). I always love soup – even in the summer.
~Day 5: The final meal included Northwoods Wisconsin Swiss, Ak-Mak Sesame Crackers and a Zing Bar Almond Blueberry Bar. B likes this because the cheese is from Wisconsin, but I think this would be the meal I was least excited about.
~Extras & Silverware / Coupons: The box also includes various samples and coupons and also silverware to use with your meals. They really did think of everything you’d need for lunch with this!
I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box, but it had 20 items in it, which would have broken down to $2 per item – including shipping. At first I thought it was a little on the pricey side at $40/box, but broken down it seems more than reasonable! And it’s super convenient which is even more awesome.

I think I’d be way more into this than like NutriSystem or doing Lean Cuisine everyday. A couple of those meals do NOT look like they’d get me through the day though. Maybe you could add in a green salad to those days.
They all work out to around 500 calories, so I’d say they are pretty filling??
I eat low carb/Paleo, and this sounded interesting until I saw the net carbs. OUCH! It’s definitely too high for any diabetic or pre diabetic, and the concentrated sugars are mind boggling. What they suggest for one meal in carb count is what I eat all day.
My son’s a vegetarian and he said the ratio of crackers to hummus is pretty bad for the Tapas to Go. It would be good to include some extra veggies and maybe some extra crackers to eat with the extra hummus.
This is totally true! Even in the pretzel / hummus snack packs I always end up with so much hummus.
This website was… how do you say it? Relevant!! Finally I have found something that helped me.
Kudos!
