Paper Dots, who kindly sent me this to review, sends subscribers one handpicked, expert-curated book to their doorstep each month. Book selections are made for you based on your questionnaire answers.  It has questions like what was the last book you read, why did you like it, what was the last book you read and didn’t finish, what genre of books do you like, etc.  Books are selected to engage and entice subscribers into becoming a committed reader. Boxes also include “a little something” extra to help the words come off the pages and into your life!

The Box

Paper Dots ships via USPS Media Mail and took four days to arrive.  Paper Dots is in Texas and I am in MI and I think that is amazing for Media Mail.

First Look

I have to tell you, I was dying to see what book they picked for me this month.  I absolutely loved “Me Before You” which was their last pick for me and I wanted to see if they would be able to do it again!

Since all boxes are customized there is no information card, but here is what I received this month from Paper Dots:

~The Selection by Kiera Cass: Just like with my last Paper Dots box, I have never heard of this book.  Honestly though, had I stumbled into it at the bookstore, I probably would have picked it up just based on the cover alone.  While I love Amazon, I do think that it limits what books I discover.  Instead of walking down the aisles and checking out the tables of books I end up looking at best sellers or I need to know what I am looking for.  I think this one will be another quick read, but hopefully (fingers crossed) it won’t leave me in tears like Me Before You did (*)!

~Penny in a Jar: As I mentioned each month you will also receive a little “go with” to enhance your experience.  I am not totally sure what the penny in the jar is all about since I haven’t started reading yet, but I am quite looking forward to finding out once I get into the book.  I don’t think it’s got anything to do with the information I found when I googled penny in a jar, but we’ll see!

Penny in a Jar

Like I said last time, I for sure don’t think that Paper Dots is going to save you any money by subscribing.  No.  They will, however, give you an experience and will introduce you to new books that you’ve never heard of before and, hopefully, will love!  I am already excited to see what’s coming next month!

Disclosure: This complimentary box was sent for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
(*) After I was finished with it I passed it along to a friend who finished it in a day. She too was hooked and said she doesn’t know if she loves me or hates me for sending it.  She too ugly cried at the end!
