Our second Citrus Lane box arrived last week and like with our other one, I wasn’t exactly sure what this one would include. This is WB’s actual box for his age (which is 28 months) while the other one we get is for a 4 year-old.
If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but they have a coupon code “SAVEHALF” which lets you pick up your first box for 50% off! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month. I always opt for the longer subscription with them because it’s a way better deal.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to arrive.
I had totally forgotten, but I selected an add-on for my August 2014 box. It’s probably good I did because I would have bought one of these adorable new Skip Hop Hedgehog sippy cups on my own anyway. They are the best.
Our 2 year-old August 2014 Citrus Lane box including the following items this month and was described as “a little something for everyone”:
~Tea for Two from Green Toys (~$11): We received these in our other box as well and they were a huge hit! Totally awesome. However, we also have the full sized set still in the box so I am not sure if I am going to keep them or put them up for trade. I probably don’t need three tea sets. Do I?
~Petit Collage Alphabet Art Cards ($24): This was the customized item from this month’s box. They are awesome for WB who is learning his letters right now. And he’s totally interested in them because of the pictures on them. Right up his alley.
~Reusable Cool It Buddy by Me4Kidz ($3.99): We can never have enough ice-packs around here. With two rough boys they are a hot (lol) commodity and, along with a bandaid, can make anything better.
~Language Video Digital Download from Little Pim ($11.99): I have now learned (thanks to whoever mentioned this) that Little Pim videos are available for free on Amazon Prime! We have Prime so I guess this isn’t as exciting as I thought last time. I will probably use this though so I can easily put it on L’s iPad for him.
All totaled I came up with a value of $50.98 for the August 2014 Citrus Lane Box for a 2 year-old boy. Even without the Little Pim download it was a great value this month and I got my money’s worth between just the tea set and the cards!

I wish I would have gotten that tea set, I liked my box (check out review here: http://whattheschneck.blogspot.com/2014/08/citrus-lane-august-2014.html for my 21 month old) but would have traded one of my items for that tea set for sure!
I was kind of hoping we’d get the blocks in our second box!
We got the 21 month old box, it had Melissa and Doug letter blocks, instant cold packs, baby lotion, a jungle growth chart and the feee month langue thing. My little guy loved the blocks, they are smaller than the ones I had as a kid.
Did you decide if you want to keep the tea set or not? We’re looking for a simple tea set for our guy and don’t want to buy the big set yet as we don’t know if it’s something he’ll love or not. Please let me know if you want to sell/trade the tea set with us! We’ve got other Green Toys from a recent birthday that we could trade… or trade it for a crisp bill. 🙂 We’re signed up for a Sept box, I just wish we’d signed up one month earlier!
E-mail me! I will trade!
