Dottiebox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a box curated every month for women. They feature high quality handmade items, small businesses, and indie brands. They offer their standard Dottiebox which is $26/month and a Dottiebox Mini subscription, which is $13/month.

The Box

Dottiebox ships via USPS First Class Mail and took three days to arrive. It probably should have only taken two days, but I think it got hung up somewhere along the way.

First Look

I couldn’t tell what anything was in this box, but I did know whatever it was smelled great! Dottiebox always has fabulous packaging and you can tell someone really took the time to package things up nicely.

The Information Card

The August 2014 Dottiebox featured the following items which smell and taste yummy:

~Uncommon Scents Candles (Butt Naked) ($12): This smells great!  Not at all what I would have expected “Butt Naked” to smell like. LOL.  It’s described as a “fruity floral blend that combines green apples, spicy pears, honeydew melon, and strawberries with light accents of cherry” and I love it!

~Gus Vitae Gourmet Spice Blend (Taste of Tuscany) ($5.59): Ohh, fun! I don’t get spices very often, but B loves when I do. I also love that the bottom of the container is magnetic, which makes it easy to attach to you fridge, pantry organizer or whatever.

~Mayas Jams (Hot Raspberry Chili Jam) ($4): Hot raspberry chili jam? I never knew such an item existed. I want to war to try this until L is home from up-north so he can try it too! He’s a good taste tester. This shop looks really cute and they make a ton of different flavors. And what’s better is that you can even request a custom order if you don’t see the flavor you want.

~Music City Suds Soap Sample: I am cracking up because I have spent the last 10 minutes trying to figure out what my soap smells like. I *think* mine is the Lavender and Ever, Amen, but I wouldn’t put any money on it. I was just wondering would I should be doing with all my mini little soap samples and then realized I could use them for the kids. They would love to have their own mini little soaps in the tub.

All totaled I came up with a value of $21.59 for the August 2014 Dottiebox. Of course I didn’t include shipping from the individual shops which I am sure would bring the value up. This box has a little something for everyone in the house in it and that doesn’t happen often with boxes, so it’s totally appreciated!

The best jam I have ever had was Raspberry Habanero. It wasn’t spicy at all, but on a bagel with cream cheese…amazing!

      Oh my. That sounds fabulous.

I make chili jam once a year, it is super good on ham (either on it when you cook it in the oven or on a ham sandwich) and I know a lot of people like it over cream cheese with crackers. Raspberry chili jam sounds amazing, looks like I need to step my jam making up a notch.

I think your jam making sounds pretty good to me!

Love this box so much! Mine was totally different scents and flavours. Appalachian Summer candle, Taste of Bordeux spices and Berry Medley jam. And weren’t the names of the soaps so funny? I couldn’t figure out which scent my sample was though.

I couldn’t figure mine out either!

    Everything sounds good and fun!
