Zoobean
Cost: $2.99 – $16.95/month (depending on package selected)
Ships To: United States.
Zoobean, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which helps you build your individual child’s literacy with remarkable children’s books and apps selected just for him or her. You may select from a monthly book delivery service (from $9.99/month) that gives you one hardcover or paperback book each month, along with an app recommendation + literacy guides or a digital service option (from $2.99/month) and receive weekly personalized app + book recommendations that come with literacy guides.
I also received one for L for August which you can check out here.
Zoobean ships via UPS Mail Innovations. The books always come in a padded white envelope with the Zoobean logo on it. I haven’t figured out how to open these without scissors yet. They are super thick!
The Book
WB’s book pick this month was “Quick as a Cricket” by Audrey Wood (which is selling for $12.39 on Amazon right now). It’s a great book and WB loved the creatures in it, but didn’t quite get the message. He will in a few years though!
The App
WB’s app selection this month was “Peekaboo Barn”. It’s $1.99 (the cost of the app is not included in the subscription price) and while I hate to pay for apps (there are just so many great free ones), I will probably make an exception for this. WB loves animals and loves naming them all, making animal sounds, etc. I am telling you though, the all time best app for kids WB’s age is “Endless Alphabet”. It’s $6.99 (OMG), but boy does he love it. It’s getting to the point where he sees the word and can say it before they do. He’s addicted.
The Zoobean plan I received is $16.95, which includes the monthly hardcover book + the digital reading guide + the app selection and app companion. If you are interested in just the Digital Service, it’s $2.99/month and you will receive a weekly email that includes an expert created Reading Guide or App Companion along with a book or app recommendation. And then you can pick up the book at the bookstore or borrowing it from your local library!
