First Look

I hadn’t seen any reviews on The Music Box so I really didn’t know what to expect with this.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the additional goodies in here as I didn’t realize I’d be getting them!

The Music Box doesn’t include an information card, which I am guessing is because boxes are personalized to your tastes.  I totally cannot remember what I told them about my music tastes, but I *think* I actually noted B’s tastes which are alt rock’ish.  Here is what my box included:

~Statelines EP – Dylan Jakobsen: B listened to all these (I listened to two of the three) and it’s hard to get anything out of him other than “I liked it” and / or “It was good”.  He’s a man of few words!  Dylan Jakobsen is only 20 years-old and his music is described as having a “country rock” feel.

~Rags & Ribbons – Magnesium Dreams:  Rags & Ribbons “play melodic rock anthems driven by classically-inspired piano.” I am not sure how I would describe them, but of the CD’s from this bunch that I listened to, I think I like it best.

~Southerland Nights: Southerland Nights is a rock band out of Houston, TX. I quite like their stuff and wouldn’t flip the channel if I heard one of their songs come on!

~The Swag: I loved all the fun swag that came along with the box.  L snagged the squirt gun, the sunglasses and notepad are mine and B gets all the stickers!

I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box, but I think that the $10/month price point is awesome.  If you want to get introduced to some new artists you might never have heard of otherwise, this is for you!
