Hazel Lane was on Gilt City recently (the deal has since ended(, so I took advantage of the offer and picked up a voucher. I snagged the $40 Deluxe City Voucher which had a value of $69.99. They had variety of different vouchers, but the one I selected was value for a past city box from their shop. I choose the Brooklyn box because I loved it so much when I received it back in April.
If you aren’t familiar, Hazel Lane sends a carefully curated box of surprise goodies from that month’s selected city that they think represents its spirit. The idea is to give you an affordable way to explore the world without having to leave your house! Items you can expect to see included are food, drink, clothing, accessories and handcrafted items chosen by locals with the environment, social responsibility and CHICNESS in mind.
Hazel Lane ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just two days to arrive. I love when I see that something is shipped via Priority Mail. Since I have zero patience, the quicker something arrives, the better.
As I mentioned I had gotten the Brooklyn box before, but I knew that had revamped them a bit, so I wasn’t exactly sure what I would receive.
The Brooklyn Hazel Lane box contained the following items:
~Made by Girl Pineapple Print (~$20): Well, you know I love this. I have zero explanation for my pineapple obsession, but I love them. Maybe it reminds me of tropical vacations? I have a couple of the Cocoa & Hearts Pineapple paintings, but this one is a print which is sold in her shop. I am planning on framing it and putting it in our bedroom.
~EBBA – Miss Marissa Roll-On ($18): I.love.this.perfume. It’s probably the main reason I selected this box. It was included in my April Brooklyn box and I so wanted more of it. It smells amazing. So incredible. If you haven’t tried it, you need to.
~Claudia Pearson Tea Towel ($16): We’ve been using / loving our other Claudia Pearson towel and suspect this will be the same way. I am slowly getting rid of all my icky old kitchen towels and replacing them with fabulous ones like these.
~Baggu Bag ($8): That’s a dog on there right? When I first glanced at it I was thinking cat, but it’s a dog. I think. I have a few Baggu’s in this shape and now the kids have one to share and B and I both have our own. They work great for traveling or as a little bag to throw in your beach bag to store your money, phone, etc. in.
~S.W. Basics (Make-Up Remover) ($7): S.W. Basics has such awesome products. I tend to use this more as a cleanser than just as a straight-up makeup remover. It’s got a few different types oils in it, in so it’s super moisturizing.
All totaled I came up with a value of $69 for the Hazel Lane Deluxe “Brooklyn” box. I knew I would like this one and it did not disappoint. The value came in at right around the cost of the box (which would have been $69.99 had I not used a voucher), but I also would have had to pay for shipping on things which would have cost way more.
