September 2014 Barkbox
September 2014 Barkbox

I got lots of subscription boxes today, but the furries made me open up their September 2014 BarkBox first.

If you aren’t familiar, BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Each monthly box contains a combination of 4-6 treats, toys, and hygiene products that have been hand selected and approved by Scout, head product tester for BarkBox. Boxes can be customized based on the size of your pet (I get the Small box for the furries) and you can add an additional toy to your box for an extra $9/month.We have been getting Barkbox since I found a Groupon for them over two years ago and have always been satisfied and happy with them.

The Box

BarkBox ships via DHL Global Mail and took a total of six days to arrive to me.

First Look

I had an idea of the theme when I opened up the box and was hoping I was right.  I used to think it was hard “themes” on pet boxes, but BarkBox makes it look easy.

The Information Card

The September 2014 BarkBox theme was “football” and included the following items sure to score a touchdown with your pup:

~Loopies Letterman Jacket ($10): This jacket (aka toy) was made just for Barkbox pups!  It’s squeaky and crinkly and way too cute.  It also seems to be very sturdy and will last my dogs for ages.

~yumZies Nootie Jerky Burger BBQ Duck ($7.99): The furries were big fans of these when they tested them out this afternoon.  They are made with real duck and contain no wheat, grain, corn or soy.

~ETTA Says Rabbit Chew ($3): I really need to get a video of the battle that happens when my dogs get one of these.  It doesn’t matter if they both have them or just one has it, it’s war!  I think they spend more time trying to keep it away from the other one than they do actually enjoying it.

~Safemade Pet Pawxford Pennant ($5): Another adorable Barkbox exclusive.  I swear, we have the cutest collection of dog toys thanks to Barkbox.

~Petsafe Indigo Smokehouse Strips – Bacon ($7): These are best consumed within three days of opening, so we are waiting to crack into them for a bit.  I can’t imagine Baxter and Buddy not liking them though. They’ll probably try to talk me into letting them eat them all in a day.

All totaled I came up with a value of $32 for the September 2014 BarkBox.  Once again I thought they totally nailed the theme and I loved this box.  Totally perfect for us this month!
