September 2014 Citrus Lane

Yay! My September Citrus Lane box(es) arrived today. I am going to start with my review of WB’s box (he’s just shy of two and a half) and will do my review on the other box I get (which is for a four and a half year old box) in a day or so.

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane  is $29/month, but they have a coupon code “NEWMOM” which lets you pick up your first box for $5! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month.  I always opt for the longer subscription with them because it’s a way better deal.

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and, as usual, took a week to arrive.

WB was right around the cut-off this month so I wasn’t sure which box he’d get.  I saw boxes for 28 month-olds and boxes for 31 month-olds and they were different.  I preferred one to the other, but I would have been okay with either.  As luck would have it, we got the preferred box!

The Information Card

The September 2014 Citrus Lane box included the following CL favorites for bedtime and bath time:

~Twinkles To Go from Cloud B ($19.95): I love these night lights.  For real, I cannot say enough good things about them.  We have one from a previous Citrus Lane box (it came the October 2013 CL box for a 41-month old boy) and both of my boys love it.  I am thrilled that we now have a second one so they can each have one.  And just a heads up if you want to snag some, cloud b is on Haute Look right now and is selling them for $13.97.  Tax and shipping apply though, so unless you spend over $100 to get free shipping, it might not be the best place to order just one.

~Pieces Foam Bath Puzzle from Boon ($11.99): Boon makes the best bath stuff and we don’t have any bath puzzles like this.  Both of my boys love the water so bath time is always an anticipated event around here.

~Radish Dish Soap from Mrs. Meyers ($0.50):  One of our favorite winter activities is playing in the sink and that always means using a bunch of dish soap.  This will be perfect.

~Write on Your Own Show Label from Emily Press ($9.99): Should I admit that I need these more than the kids do?  I have put their shoes on the wrong feet more times than I would like to remember.  Hopefully these help all of us a little bit!

All totaled I came up with a value of $42.43 for the September 2014 Citrus Lane box.  The box also included a one-time use coupon code to give to a friend for a free Citrus Lane box, but I didn’t include that in the value.  This box was totally fabulous and I thought it was well worth the price!

Did you get a Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?  If you are interested in subscribing, click here and use coupon code “NEWMOM” to get your first box for only $5!  You will be enrolled in a monthly subscription (which you can always cancel if you are not happy), but it’s an amazing way to try them out!

I am so jealous that you actually received so many kids items. We received a tee shirt, band aids, snack bag (I think you actually received both of these items in previous posts) and bath foam appliques. That was my one criticism this month; it seemed the bag was more for me instead of my son. The value was there though.

    1. Jennifer

Yeah I like it when it’s more stuff for the kids!

My son got the 23 month old box and he got:
A Tea Collection long sleeve graphic tee
    Boon bath toys
A Mickey Mouse reusable snack bag
    A box of bandages
And a Free Box Code for a friend.

I was really happy with my son’s box, the long sleeve tee is perfect for fall. However, I really wanted the Cloud-B light. Maybe I will go buy him one. They are so cute!

      That shirt sounds cute!

jennifer, you said he was between ages, but not which box he got, do you not know or did you just leave it out?

        1. Jennifer

The age of the box we got is in the title of the post. It’s for a 29 month old.

    2. lauren

That shirt sound and the snack bag sound great, do you have him entered in the system as 23 months? We upped the age on our 14 month old 3 months, after chatting with a rep from citrus lane, but I don’t think it was enough :/

Yay that is an awesome box! My son is 30 months so hopefully we get the same box. It’s for sure on of there better boxes. Make sup for last month. I love that the shoe labels come with 6 pairs!

    1. Jennifer

I hope you get this one too! It’s a good one!

  4. Victoria

Those shoe labels are pure genius! I always seem to put my son’s shoes on backwards, so these would be handy.

    1. Jennifer

Thank goodness I am not the only one.

Thanks! I was curious about Austin Lloyd this month!

Love your box this month. We got the firetruck puzzle, book and art craft. I’ve been busy tagging for the consignment sale this weekend so I haven’t had a chance to blog it yet. I’m ok with ours but I would have rather had the Cloud B light (we only have one too), or the clock, or even the tea if I could get it in a bigger size. HaHa makes me sound like I don’t like mine but I do just wish I could have picked and choose 😉 I think I’m out of sub now so hoping for a good black Friday deal so we can get some more.

    1. Jennifer

I SO want to hear how the consignment sale goes. How are you piecing everything???

      1. Jenny

All the clothes I have are small 18mo and under sizes so they are harder to sell. I priced most at $2 and $3. I have already sold all my real name brand stuff so its mostly the store brands so I’ll take whatever for those. I also did a couple totes of toys and I tried to price them for what I would stop and look at them for so maybe less then what I would want but a price that would make me buy it if I saw it. I like this one since drop offs are this week and the sale is Tonight and Tomorrow morning and we get our leftovers, our check, and a tax slip for what sold tomorrow afternoon so its not a long drawn out process 🙂

    1. Jennifer

I think they did Tea onsies before, but that’s about the only other clothing item I recall them doing!

      1. Genevieve

Hopefully getting the same box as you for my 21-month old! Already have the night light (bought it last year after I saw Jennifer’s review). But I am getting sick of getting snack bags in every box.

  6. Nicole

My daughter is 16 months old, and we received the Tea Collection long-sleeved onesie, Boon boats for the bath, the Mrs. Meyer’s soap, and a Happy Baby pouch. The pouch was an odd choice, I think, as it was a stage 3 baby food pouch, so really meant for a much younger baby. My little girl actually skipped right over baby food and went right to solids and eats like a toddler, so this was a bit of a waste, unfortunately. To be honest, our box felt a little light in value this month. We LOVE the onesie, though! And my daughter is really enjoying the bath boats.

    1. S

I agree the Happy Baby pouch is too young for your baby! I also didn’t care for it because I make my own baby food. I received the same items you did – for my 7 mo old.

      1. lauren

I’m not thrilled with our box this month either! We got the Tea onesie in 18-24 months. I buy my 14 month old 2t clothes because he’s at least 32″ / 25.5 lbs. I’m not sure if we’ll give it away or something, as he won’t fit in it very long. The pouch is ok, because he’ll eat that as a healthy snack on the go, but the bath toy is kind of ehh. It’s our last box we prepaid for…not sure what to do.

  7. Cory Amedio

I really enjoyed the box my 28 month old daughter got, she got the cloud b night light, which she loves, she got a pack of bandages, which she loves, she got some 3d bath animals, again she loves, and the dish soap my wife really likes,
We also got a newborn box for the little one on the way…the tea collection onsite, which I like, feels well made, diaper rash samples and another dish soap, plus the coupons they made me happy

  8. Lauren

Labels?!?!?! Ughh, I’m so jelous my little man same age received pretty much the same box but band aids in place of labels. We need more band aid like we need a whole in my head.. i was okay with it until j saw your Lables. oh well.

  9. Lisa

I have a four-year-old and like Jenny we got the firetruck puzzle, book and craft tube. Meh. Other months/ages have been way better. I don’t even feel like I can regift a lot of this stuff as birthday presents for my son’s friends as a lot of them are already turning 5.

  10. Brittany

I loved this box. Instead of the labels, we received ouchie bandaids.. which are really cute. We also received a similar, but different Boon bath product. They were 3D bath animals that each had 2 pieces for them to put together
