September 2014 Citrus Lane

I did a review on WB’s (*) Citrus Lane box last week and now I wanted to share what I received in my other September 2014 Citrus Lane Box. This box is for a 4.5 year-old boy. Some of it ends up working for L and other items I end up saving for WB.

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but they have a coupon code “NEWMOM” which lets you pick up your first box for $5! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month (and is even less when they do a coupon code on top of that).  I always opt for the longer subscription with them because it’s a way better deal.

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to arrive.  Much to my surprise, I actually had ordered an add-on (Halloween Paper Chains) for this box.  I must have had a coupon code?

First Look

Like with my other box I didn’t know for sure what this one would include.  I was happily surprised when I opened this one up and knew right away I liked it.

The Information Card

The September 2014 Citrus Lane box included the following items you may find useful as you begin to spend more time indoors over the next few months:

~Vehicle Puzzle from Crocodile Creek ($10.99): This could not be more perfect for us. Seriously.  WB’s room is firetrucks so this will go in there.  It’ll be just a decoration for a while and then when he’s a bit older we’ll get to build it.  The card says there were three different vehicle variations, so I feel super lucky I got the fire truck!

~Creativity Can from Creativity for Kids ($9.99): This is an awesome Quiet Time box item for L.  He’ll happily put these critters together and, if I am lucky, he will let me do one too.

~Little Red Hen Book & CD Set from Barefoot Books ($9.99): I don’t know if we have this book or not?  It seems like we should, but for some reason I don’t think we do?  Anyway, it’s a nice story with great life lessons.

~Cinnamon Crunch from Somersault Snacks (~$1): I’ll use these in L’s lunch this week.   Anything I can do to make his lunch a little different every day is good!

All totaled I came up with a value of $31.97 for the September 2014 Citrus Lane box for a 4.5 year old boy.  Had I paid full price ($29) I probably wouldn’t have been overly excited about this, but since I pay slightly over half that I am quite happy with it!  That firetruck puzzle is just so awesome!

Did you get a Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?  If you are interested in subscribing, click here and use coupon code “NEWMOM” to get your first box for only $5!  You will be enrolled in a monthly subscription (which you can always cancel if you are not happy), but it’s an amazing way to try them out!

(*) WB stands for “Willie Baby”. I think people think it stands for William Bryan? It doesn’t. That’s not even his middle name. It was just a nickname when he was a baby and it kind of stuck and it feels funny to just type W.
