In my constant effort to test out / review new boxes, I signed up for FrenchBox, which is a brand new subscription box, as soon as I heard about it. It sounded like a fun one to check out and at $14 (for the first box at least), the price was right.

FrenchBox is a subscription box that brings you personalized chic products, accessories and delicacies from France every month. It contains 5 products from French brands: fashion, cosmetics, gourmet and others surprises!

The Box

FrenchBox ships via USPS Priority Mail.  It was supposed to arrive in two days, but ended up taking four to get to me.  That wasn’t FrenchBox’s fault though.

I thought the outer FrenchBox was adorable, but I think the actual box was even better.  Seriously, how cute is this?

Everything was packaged beautifully and you can tell they spent a lot of time preparing these boxes and making sure everything was perfect.  The card in the picture above is a fun postcard that you can either send or frame.  I hope it’s monthly thing because I really like it.

I knew there were some variations for this box so I was really anxious to see what items I would get.  I didn’t have any preferences, I was just curious.

The Information Card

The September 2014 FrenchBox theme was “Grape Harvesting Time” and included the following products:

~Caudalie Makeup Remover Cleansing Water ($4.14): I plan to use this more often as a toner than as a makeup remover.  I used it for the first time this morning and thought it was quite nice.  I need something gentle I can use anytime and this looks to be just the thing.

~Sothys Protective Nail Enamel (Rouge Profond) ($17): Goodness this color is fabulous!  It’s perfect for fall and the formula is great.

~Missiu Eiffel Tower Bracelet ($12): While I think that this is really cute, I just don’t know how often I would wear it.  I have two friends who teach French at middle / high school and could wear it to school so I am going to pass this on to one of them.

~Buddy Fruits Fruit Bites (Orange) ($1.50): I knew Buddy Fruits made pouches, but I didn’t really they had fruit bites too.  I am going to have to see where they are sold locally.  They went in L’s lunchbox today and I’d love to find some other flavors.

~Whispering Angel Wine Bag ($15): I don’t know that I have ever used the last wine tote I received, so I am guessing this one is going to end up the same way.  I may just end up using it for storage.  Of something.

~Sothys Lipstick Pen (Brun) ($11.20): This wasn’t on the information card, but it appears that people are receiving either the lipstick pen or a Sothys eyeliner or something else from this brand.  I am really happy I got the lipstick pen because I know my SIL will like trying a new brand out.

All totaled I came up with a value of $60.84 for the September 2014 FrenchBox.  Considering that I only paid $14 for the box I am very happy with this.  I am going to keep it around for a few months (I gotta stick with my rule of trying out boxes for at least 3 months before making a decision) and am already looking forward to seeing what they do next month.

Did you get FrenchBox this month?  What variations did you receive and what’d you think?  If you are interested in signing up (remember you can get your first box for only $14) head on over to their site where you can also see some of the brands they will be featuring down the road.

That looks like a fun box! I wish someone would do a box like this but focus on items from Japan or Korea maybe.

Try memebox!! WARNING: THEY ARE ADDICTIVE!! I bought 6 in one day!

In addition to Memebox, there’s also the Q Box which has a variety of goodies from Japan and Memebox. There’s a waiting like on something like 2 months for each box and they don’t automatically re-subscribe you. Here’s a write up of both Memebox and Qbox

I hope next month’s box is just as good (hopefully something better in place of the bracelet), just subscribed after seeing your post!

I do wonder what they will do!

I thought they did an excellent job in curated and packaging the box. It was a delight to open the box. The differences in my box are: banana fruit bites, Caudalie ant-wrinkle fluid, a black eyeliner and my nail polish color is beige. I love the dark reds that I’ve seen in the French Box and the Bare Bliss box. I can’t wait to see what is in my box next month and like the variations that they used this month.

I liked the variations this month too. Everything seemed perfectly fair and even which is awesome.

We were the same except my bracelet was blue and my Sothy’s were a Rose Indien lipstick and a lip pencil in Givre de rose. I went with the year subscription special. 🙂

I probably should have done that!

The fruit bites sometimes show up on Zulily! I ordered a case last year (24 packages). Just go to the Buddy Fruits Web site to see where they are sold in your area, maybe Whole Foods? Or I’m sure you can buy online at Amazon.

Good to know! Thank you!! We do have a Whole Foods sort of near us. They sell the pouches at our Kroger, but I have never seen those bites!
