GLOSSYBOX, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly beauty subscription box. It costs $21/month and includes five luxury surprise beauty items shipped to your door. I love GLOSSYBOX and am consistently impressed at the value they pack into the boxes. They do ship late some months, but I am kind of used to that by now since I have been subscribing for so long.
GLOSSYBOX also does the best collaborations. They did a collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman a few months ago which may have been their best ever and they have also done collaborations with Dallas Shaw, The Man Repeller and Bydrie just to name a few! This month is a collaboration with the folks over at Harper’s BAZAAR so you know it’s going to be good.
GLOSSYBOX ships via USPS. I received this box to review so it shipped early this month. I have a regular subscription as well and I haven’t gotten any shipping notifications on that one yet.
The September GLOSSYBOX box was plain white and had the Harper’s BAZAAR logo printed on it.
I so wasn’t expecting this box yesterday, but once I realized what it was I was very anxious to get it opened up. The first look did not disappoint either.
The September 2014 GLOSSYBOX was a collaboration with Harper’s BAZAAR. The box included the following favorites from Joyann King, who is the Digital Director at Harper’s BAZAAR:
~Essie (Madison Ave-Hue) ($8.50): How gorgeous is this color? It’s a shimmery pink and I absolutely love it. This is my kind of color for sure. And I have been using (and loving) Essie polishes for years. I love that they sell it at Target now.
~Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara ($7.67): I love all things Benefit and this mascara is no exception. It doesn’t get all clumpy and just goes on nice and smooth. Sort of related, but has anyone seen those Benefit vending machines they have at airports? I love those things. B always has to pull me away before I buy it all.
~Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au The Blanc Conditioner ($16.64): I believe I have the size right on this one (2.5oz), but it doesn’t say on the bottle so I can’t be totally sure. Anyway, I totally though this was a lotion. I was this close to squeezing it on my hands to test out until I glanced at the bottle and realized it’s a hair conditioner! Oops! My hair is going to smell amazing though.
~Vichy Liftactiv Night ($15.88): This cream is suppose to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and boost skin’s firmness. I used it last night and (obviously) couldn’t see a noticeable difference yet, but I’ll give it a few weeks.
~Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar: Metallic in Authentic ($18): I am debating on keeping this one or gifting it to a friend. I absolutely love the color, but I don’t know if I can pull it off? I’m leaning towards keeping it and trying to make it work.
All totaled I came up with a value of $66.69 for the September 2014 GLOSSYBOX for Harper’s BAZAAR box! I thought this was a great box and love that it featured some old favorites (Essie and Benefit) and some items that are totally new to me (Lip Tar and the Vichy). I am already excited for my second one to arrive.
