The Outlaw Soaps Clean Getaway Box, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a bi-monthly soap subscription box. Boxes are centered around an outlaw or outlaw theme and include a little light reading (including tidbits like outlaw slang, famous outlaws in history, and featured Outlaw Soaps customers), two bars of soap, a button of the Outlaw of the Month, product samples from makers related to the month’s theme and / or various other things they might be trying out.
Outlaw Soaps ships via USPS on a bi-monthly basis. The box was cute and smelled quite good when I opened it.
Everything was inside of a burlap bag which I thought fit the theme quite nicely.
The September 2014 Outlaw Soaps Clean Getaway Subscription Club outlaw was Jesse James. The box included a little information about Outlaw Soaps, some history on Jesse James and of course, lots of information on what was included in the box. Here’s what was inside:
~1/2 Bar Fire in the Hole Soap ($5): I love everything about this soap. The name, the colors, the smell, everything! It’s described as smelling like “gunpowder, campfire, whiskey, bacon, sage, and dirt” which oddly combined to a pretty darn good smell.
~1/2 Bar of Bunkhouse Stampede Soap ($5): Bunkhouse Stampede smells like clove, cinnamon, and vanilla, with a hint of orange. It’s nice, but I am still thinking about fire in the hole!
~Leather & Sandalwood Shaving Soap ($15): This shaving soap is all-vegan and works best when used with a shaving brush. As luck would have it B just got a shaving brush, so he will be all set.
All totaled I came up with a value of $25 for the September 2014 Outlaw Soaps The Clean Getaway Subscription Club box. The box itself is $20 and also gets you a discount of 10% of all Outlaw Soaps orders. You do have to pay shipping on the box, but you’d also have to pay shipping if you ordered these items from Outlaw Soaps so I figure that they cancel each other out.
