September 2014 The Music Box

The Music Box, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a subscription service that sends music and fun gifts to your front door for only $10 a box. They hand pick emerging artists (keeping in mind your favorite genres) and send you new music every month. Additional items that may be included in your Music Box are CD’s, posters, stickers, wristbands, t-shirts, and much more!

The Box

The Music Box ships via USPS.  This is actually a picture of last month’s box because I cannot figure out what happened to my picture of the September box.  Sometimes they just disappear?

First Look

B’s a big fan of The Music Box and I know he was excited for me to get this one opened so he could check it out.

The Information Card

The September 2014 The Music Box included an information card for the first time ever.  It noted on the card that the box would also contain a few items not listed because they were personalized and that the October box promises to be the “Best Box Ever”.  Here is what we received this month:

~The Sons (Full Length Album): The Sons are a British Indie band and B and I both really liked them. I really liked them actually.  It looks like they are ending things so they won’t have any new stuff coming out.

~Cult Classic (6 Song Download), City of the Weak (Free Song Download) & Hemlock (Free Song Download):  The box also included an assortment of song downloads, stickers and tattoos.  I tried to ask B what he thought of these since he did the downloads, but all I can get out of them is “I liked it”.

~Bonus CD Rags & Dreams – The Magnesium Dreams: We actually got this CD back in July, so it wasn’t new to us.  It was one of my favorites we have gotten from The Music Box though and I’ll be passing it on to a friend.

~Lucky Clover Grow Kit & Pencil Cup: The Music Box also includes a few fun little bonus items every month.  L and I have plans to grow the Lucky Clovers.  I love stuff like that.  And they usually really grow too.

As usual, I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box, but I think that the $10/month price point is awesome.  If you want to get introduced to some new artists you might never have heard of otherwise, this is totally for you!

What do you think of The Music Box?  If you are interested in subscribing or just want to find out a little more, make sure to check them out!

Disclosure: This complimentary box was received for review purposes. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
