~Good morning! We had a good weekend around here and I was able to catch up on a ton of sleep. I went to bed at 10:30pm one night. What? That never ever happens and I loved it! B’s off today for the holiday and has some stuff to do around the house and WB and I are hoping to start sorting through closets. I need to move the winter stuff in and I need to do some work in my stockpile / gift / fun closet (I need to keep on top of that thing or it gets to be a mess).
~I will have my review posted on my Birchbox Man Limited Edition Box in just a little bit, but I wanted to share my Mystery Sample Pack that I got free with it. I also picked “Dark Places” as my Gift With Purchase. Not a bad haul considering it was all free with something I would have bought anyway.
~No mail will be coming today (#columbusdsay), but for the rest of the week I am expecting Bespoke Post, Birchbox, BiteBox, Citrus Lane, Googaro, ipsy (although I don’t think I have gotten tracking on this yet), Ivy-Kids, Love With Food, Stitch Fix and the Vidal Sassoon VoxBox.
~My account (and FedEx tracking) still shows no signs of the October 2014 PopSugar Must Have Box, but in case you missed it, we got spoilers over the weekend! You can check them out here.
~I posted this on Instagram, but I am so fascinated with it that I thought I’d post it here too. A few places around here have these soda machines that have a million different flavor options and I always get so excited when I see them and think OMG these are going to be amazing. But huh, they aren’t. At least I can’t figure out which ones are. According to you IG’ers, Peach Sprite is where it’s at? Also how does this work? How don’t the flavors get all mixed together?
~So I still haven’t located a Minecraft Steve costume for L that will work, so I am seriously considering trying to make him this one. All of the instructions are there and I just keep thinking, how hard can that be? Famous last words right? We have a Halloween Party on Friday night, but I think the boys will just do something superhero’ish for that one so I don’t need it for at least 2 weeks or so. Is this doable? Or a totally stupid idea? I thought about getting one like this, but really like the homemade one better…
What’s up for your Monday? Any big plans this week? And of course, what subscription boxes are you expecting?
Jennifer those coke machines are awesome! If you want peach sprite, just push the sprite button, then the different sprite flavors will appear. Next you just make your flavor selection. There are little men in there that keep the soda from mixing hahaha…
LOL! I mean I know how to get the soda out! I just don’t get what is happening on the inside of that to allow 9 million different options in two seconds!
Oops, just saw Tiffany’s post lol. That is pretty cool. I’m always worried they’ll be out of my flavor then I’ll be left to ponder which one to get in place of my first choice.
I was absolutely fascinated the first time I saw one of those Coke machines. They’ve been everywhere here for a few years but I guess Coke puts things out in Atlanta (where I am) first. I can even get caffeine-free (cherry) Diet Coke at the movies if I go late, so I won’t be up all night afterwards. (That probably makes me sound old. Oh well.)
That doesn’t make you old, it makes you smart!
the problem w/ those soda machines is that they have Mr Pibb and not Dr Pepper. And EVERYBODY knows Dr Pepper is the best drink ever.
Oh, my husband was so annoyed they didn’t have Dr. Pepper. He was like WTF?
I found a local friend that makes my costumes for the kids every year and honestly it is cheaper then buying the costumes. I pick them out a few months in advanced and send them her way through Facebook and she does everything else. I hope you can find a sewing friend.
I am getting the Vox Box too. I actually saw your hair dye but I purposely went with Vidal this month to see how his dye worked with his hair products. Hoping my grays won’t show too soon. Happy Monday!!
Ohh, that is a genius idea! Ineed to find someone like that!
http://www.consumercrafts.com. Is having s blowout on washi tape. I am trying to decide how many and which ones. Also trying to decide where to use it all
‘. LOL
Don’t tempt me!
Those machines are awesome! My husband watches a lot of those How It’s Made shows and others like it. On one of them, they showed those coke machines on there and if I remember correctly: the syrup for the different flavors is packed into cartridges like ink cartridges for your printer. When you make your selection, the syrup in the cartridge then mixes with the base part of the drink.
Hold everything. There is a how it’s made on these machines? I need to find this!!!!!!!
ITs true thats exactly how it works! my other half works for coke and thats how he explained it too like ink cartridges for a printer.. and the machine is so smart that when its running low on a flavor it just sends a message to coke and orders a new one to be delivered.. its pretty cool!
Ohhh, that is fascinating!!! Now I need to find a picture of the inside…
Yes!!! I have watches them cage it at pei wei… i was completely flabbergasted! !!! I still am when I see the mechines. I go with straight diet cherry coke or sparkling h20
My husband is traveling again. My sister will be coming down later in the week to visit. It’s a big week for the boys between their first lessons in their new rank at Tae Kwon Doe and the ending of the cross-country season. Training started a week after school ended so it feels like the season lasted forever. One last huge meet and a family fun night to celebrate. The best runners will move onto qualifying for states etc.
I looked at the Minecraft links and it doesn’t seem too hard. I don’t know what is used to protect the child from the crews or maybe it is a non-issue because of the design. I’m not good at things like this.
This week I should be receiving BirchBox Limited Edition Men, Bespoke Post, Green Kids Craft, and Mini Dottie Box. I saw that you have Ivy Kids listed. Is it that time again? I felt like the last box arrived only a few weeks ago.
I live in a boring area so no fancy Coke machines.
It seems so easy, but I feel like if I actually started trying it it would not be….
we love those machines too – as a diabetic there are very few options of pop that tastes good but from these always wonderful. I usually go for some lemonade crazy flavour. I’ve found them at Five Guys mostly.
Today just on a turkey detox & I work just one night shift tonight. It’s been raining so I will be playing catch in the house hallway with the pups once the hubby gets up
That’s where we were! Five Guys!
We have those at 5 guys, and now the burger kings have them as well. I tried the peach sprite but it was too much like peach schnapps to drink on my lunch break 😉 the cherry sprite is good though!
I always make my son’s costumes. They turn out so much better than the cheap store-bought ones… You know you can buy the Minecraft Steve cardboard heads at Walmart, right? My son has one. I think I paid $15 for it. So, you’d just have to make the arms and torso. I think I may have even seen them at Target and Toys R Us too…
Ohh, I haven’t seen them at TRU, but I could try Target…
Gillian Flynn is such a great writer. Her books kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
My Pop Sugar box hasn’t shipped yet either. I hope it ships soon.
Those soda machines are cool. I love getting the vanilla root beer from them.

I know! If it doesn’t ship soon we’ll be cutting it too close to Halloween!
That minecraft costume looks awesome! I didn’t even realize Citrus Lane had shipped until I read your post. Looks like mine should be here Saturday.
Yay! Fingers crossed it comes sooner!
Half Vanilla, Half Grape, Diet Sprite. Sounds gross but it’s actually quite good.
That does sound gross, but I will try it!
Omg I love those coke machines! Was soo excited that those were the machines included in the drink package when my mom and I went on royal Caribbean to Bermuda end of august, theirs are even cooler cause they put sensors on the bottoms of the souvenir cup for the drink package. The sensor was the only way the machine would work and it wouldn’t let you get more if you tried less then 15 minutes after a refill. My favorite on there is peach sprite I also really like mixing that with raspberry sprite it’s so good!
That is so cool! And those drink sensors are genius. They have those at the Disney resorts too. Fascinating!
Love those Coke machines! I’m a big Coke Zero fan and when the machines hit our area several years ago, they were one of the few places that you could get it other than the grocery store (now, lots of regular soda machines seem to carry Coke Zero which is nice). It’s also nice to be able to get caffeine free sodas too.
My SIL loves Coke Zero and used to have such a hard time finding it!
