~We had such a good weekend here! Friday night was Trunk-or-Treating at L’s school which was very fun. I am really glad we decided to host a trunk (although I wasn’t too excited about it Friday afternoon when I was still lost on how to decorate) and we had a lot of fun. There were 50 trunks total so I got a lot of ideas for next year too. We went with a Michigan State theme for ours because I knew it would be easy and because we couldn’t find the stuff we wanted for our first idea (just ghosts and other Halloween stuff). Saturday was football and errands and Sunday was more fun. WB and L went to Greenfield Village with my parents (they all love that place) and B and I had a day date. A good time was had by all!
~This week should be fairly slow subscription box wise. The last of the October boxes will be trickling in and I think I have a few November ones coming as well. The remaining October boxes are: Bestowed, Hammock Pack, Hazel Lane, Kiwi Crate, and Little Lace Box. The November boxes I am anticipating this week are Birchbox Man, The Boodle Box and Five Four Club. I received an e-mail that my October urthbox shipped, but it hasn’t actually gone anywhere yet. Looks like the shipping label was created on the 15th and that’s it. We’ll see how long that one takes!
~If you (or your man) subscribes to Birchbox Man, November boxes have been posted! We ended up not selecting one of the lifestyle items that were offered in the sample choice just to see what we’d get and it turned out to be a good move! B is getting Box #19, which includes 6 items total!
~Is anyone else watching Homeland? Are you as creeped out by this season as I am? She is taking her job to the extreme! Does she have any friends that aren’t co-workers? Someone needs to talk to her.
~I did my weekly subscription box additions / updates post yesterday morning and have one more update to that. I got an e-mail from Mama’s Got Mail saying that they are “pausing” for a bit due to some behind the scenes issues. I will update if / when I hear more. If you have a prepaid subscription with them, the e-mail stated you should get your refund later this week.
~We are planning on carving pumpkins tonight and would love to hear any secret tips you have for carving! I always think it’s going to be so fun and then two hours later when I am only halfway done, it’s just not so fun anymore. Any suggestions? And how do you cook your pumpkin seeds?
