October 2014 bluum Box

I was expecting maybe a box or two today, so I was super surprised when 80% of the boxes I thought I was getting this week appeared on my porch this afternoon.  And one of the boxes was my October 2014 bluum box!

If you aren’t familiar, bluum (who acquired Stork Stack earlier this year), is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies.  Products are hand selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage.

The Box

bluum box ships via FedEx Smart Post and took under a week to arrive.  My tracking still says it’s in-transit from the FedEx facility to my local Post Office, but it’s really at my house!

First Look

This box was packed full and looked great!  It didn’t have an information card of any type this month, but once tracking shows that your box is delivered (which mine isn’t showing yet), you can access the details in your bluum account.  WB’s October bluum box was for a 34 month-old (*) and included the following items:

~Little Rabbit Waits for the Moon by Ben Shoshan & Stephanie Peel (~$6): Super cute book. We don’t have it yet, so it’s a great addition for us.  And WB is finally loving reading books (well having books read to him), so that is awesome.

~Halloween Color & Activity Book (~$5): Love this! It’s actually perfect for L and for WB and has activities both of them can do.  We don’t have much going on this week, so we’ll be able to work on this and some Halloween crafts as well.

~Squirting Turtle Bath Book ($4.19): I’m not overly excited about this, but the kids will play with it, so I guess it’s fine.

~The Manhattan Toy Company Bear ($20):  Ahhh,  how cute is this guy?  His official name is “Folksy Foresters Bear” and WB and I just think he’s adorable.  Love!

~LUNA Protein Bars (~$3): I was super excited when I saw these because I love LUNA bars.  They are fabulous.  I don’t think I have ever tried the Lemon Vanilla flavor, so I am going to go for that one first.

LUNA Protein Bars

All totaled I came up with a value of $38.19 for the October 2014 bluum box.  It wasn’t my all-time favorite bluum box, but I am content with it.  I think the bear and the LUNA bars won me over!

(*) It’s a long story, but we used to get bluum ages ago when they just did those smaller sample sized boxes for 0-12 month olds. When WB was about 9 months, bluum launched their current box for ages 1+ and was still doing the sample boxes for babies 0-12 months old. I wanted to check out the new, bigger boxes for WB, so I aged him up a few months so he was 1. And he’s still aged up!
